Wenger: Nasri To Sign After Euro 2008

June 1, 2008

Arsenal boss Arséne Wenger told popular French radio station RMC on their football talk show ‘After Foot’ that “he hopes” Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri will become an Arsenal player after this summers European Championships.

Wenger, who has come under pressure from the majority of Gunners’ fans to make some signings in the current summer transfer window, is currently on holiday in Italy “relaxing” at a Merano health spa while stand-in Managing Director Ken Friar is left to deal with transfer negotiations.

“Nasri, he interests me,” Wenger told RMC.

“I hope I will do it after the Euros.

“It is more complicated now because the wage differences [between the French and the English league] are not as big as they used to be.

“Just watch [Karim] Benzema. He is 20 and recently signed a new deal.

“It is very difficult [to transfer players from the French league] but England is considered one of the two top leagues and the best players want to play against the best players.”

A £12.5 million deal was reportedly agreed between Marseille and Arsenal last week while the Frenchman was set to have a medical and seal personal terms with the club during the one-day break he had off from the French national team on Monday.

The news that the delayed move will happen after the Euro Championships will certainly put the signing in doubt, with Nasri likely to attract plenty of suitors if he has an impressive tournament for France.

Gooner Talk will update this article with a download link to the radio interview with Le Boss, extra quotes and who Wenger feels will do best in this summers Championships tomorrow afternoon.

Just hope Marseille don’t try to move the goalposts if he has a great tournament and earns a starting berth later in the finals. I hope its just a case of 99%.

Ahh man sorry but i had to do that. I’ve given up all hope now. Next transfer please.

  9. Jimmy Says:

Wenger previously said that he wanted all business done before the championships. You have to wonder, why the need to wait? There has already been plenty of time for negotiations. I can only assume therefore that there’s still a difference of opinion over transfer fee or personal terms. Concerning because if it falls through it leaves us very little time to pull off another deal.

  10. TH Says:

Hmmmm….this isn’t the news we were hoping to hear because we know what can happen.

  11. gooner Says:

This deal is off. His agent said it would be done a few days ago, now it wont be done for another month. Not happening.

  12. cescy Says:

    joke

  13. Andy Says:

this transfer has been a load of bollocks its time wenger put his way of doin trasfers to the side and get the players needed

  14. Alfienoakes Says:

Queue Peter Kenyon to watch him and snap him up once he’s had a great tournament.

Looks like another load of old horse shite… Exactly right flex.. If he has a good Euro 2008, we will be priced out of it.. Great….

  15. Attila Says:

    oooh….

  16. AGooner Says:

bollocks n a half, nasri was supposedly gona sign last week monday, man if it takes arsenal this much tym to sign some1 from marseille it will take them 1 year to sign some1 from lyon [ie ben arfa], this must b how we lost ribery

  17. Dare Says:

    dasdas

  18. shadrach Kaganda Says:

    6. kagz

He has already signed Nasri and in my opinion he is an Arsenal player. Fellow gooners lets rejoice

  19. steero Says:

This is a joke, he not coming he would off signed by now?

It’s just a bit annoying when Arséne says you will see a couple off sigbing in two/three weeks and nothing happens

  20. thegoonerforum Says:

And why is it that Spurs can sign Modric in no time at all but yet it takes us 6 weeks to complete a signing. We are a fucking joke

  21. Spud Says:

How do we know this blog isnt a load of shit ?……He has been supposedly signing for 2 weeks or more but as yet …nothing !
    Arsene knows !!!!

  22. Dare Says:

This is not true this is bullshit look at the post this is fake post it is just 2words that wenger is saying, i read today that Wenger is on a weekend in Africa so this is clearly bullshit and I think that tomorrow we will sign Nasri.

  23. jay Says:

its not gonna happen now ……………… why can he not just bid a certen amount of money and sign r not sign ????

  24. thegoonerforum Says:

Steero, Wenger said he will sign 2/3 players in 2 wk on the 11th May

  25. GunnerRashidinho Says:

Fuck off Wenger you fucking frenchie. Can’t do business for shit.

  26. JohnV Says:

I cant believe this, some other team will almost certainly sign him between now and the end of the Euros what the hell is with that? Wenger being on his holidays we need to make the signing not leave it in there air for Marsailles to sell him to someone else how stupid is that :@

  27. Gooner Chris Says:

This is not true this is bullshit look at the post this is fake post it is just 2words that wenger is saying, i read today that Wenger is on a weekend in Africa so this is clearly bullshit and I think that tomorrow we will sign Nasri.

Mate, it’s on a live recorded radio station, i’ll find the download link and if you understand French.. listen yourself. Don’t jump the gun and say my article’s wrong, when you’ve done fuck all research.

  28. steero Says:

This raises the questions on how much have we got to spend this summer?

  29. Gooner Chris Says:

Obviously Wenger isn’t that eager to seal the deal, he’s out in Italy on holiday. Where is Ken Friar???

  30. Gunner4life&beyond Says:

If that is true, then it won’t happen. Very disappointing. I think maybe the quote might mean he hopes to see him at Arsenal after the Euros, as that would be the first time he could come and do anything here.

Which means that he signs now, but can only physically come to Arsenal and settle in, after the Euros. Let’s hope, because he has impressed me in both of France’s games, and he’ll be impressing people in the Euros. So if he isn’t signed now, there will be too much competition for his signature afterwards.

If he hasn’t signed by Thursday, then it’s best we forget about this one.

  31. GunnerRashidinho Says:

Wenger is gay man. I would make a better manager than him. For Fuck Sakes, how long does it take to sign just ONE fucking player. You have the Spuds, signing modric with no problems and here Wenger making a big deal of the Nasri signing. Yet again we’re disappointed with Wenger’s dealings.

  32. Goofle Says:

He has a release clause so do not worry about other clubs interest. The player has to choose.

  33. joetodd Says:

Daniel Levy actual turned up at Luka Modric’s house to seal the deal.

  34. kevin Says:

It a disgrace we better sign him tomorrow or else.

  35. […] we finally going to sign Nasri? When is this going to happen? According to GoonerTalk it’s going to take longer then we thought, I hope not. I can imagine a lot of very unhappy […]

  36. GunnerRashidinho Says:

Yeah how do you know he won’t choose Manure/Real Madrid/Barca.

  37. joetodd Says:

    “Or else”, what’s gunna happen?

  38. Dare Says:

Mate, “Gooner Chris” how wenger could say that on a french radio, when he is on holiday in Afria?

  39. gooner Says:

We obviously couldnt agree a deal

  40. Gooner Chris Says:

He was on the phone Dare.. from Italy, I’m guessing you’ve been reading The Spoiler who say he’s in Morocco.. :rolls eyes:

  41. joetodd Says:

    lol

  42. cescy Says:

gooner chris try and get a more detailed transcript of what he said please!

  43. Gooner Chris Says:

Cescy mate, im working on an article as we speak, trying to get the translations – bear in mind that this show is still going on.

  44. Seb Says:

Was there any reason for him signing afterv the euros??

  45. Topgunwenger Says:

I’ve spent the last 3 weeks of the summer refreshing e-soccer hoping we are going to make signings when I could have been outside chatting up girls; only wenger has been dividing his time between intellectulising to the press, commentating on tv, going to a health spa, and arranging the affairs of Paris St Germain.

  46. cescy Says:

yeh i know rubbish french and im listening! thanks for your effort

  47. ola Says:

seriously, how fukn hard can it be when even the spuds manage to sign quality……………………if he’s not presented before the euro’s OR if he hasnt signed a letter of intent, then this is 90% down the drain…

  48. Dare Says:

Flamini is gone, now and hleb will go, and wenger will buy 3 pleyars and he will say that we the fans will be satisfied, and actually we lose 2 players and add just one player and again we will be short with our squad….. I,am disappointed….

  49. avss Says:

A precise translation of exactly what Wenger said and in what context he said it is needed, he might have meant something different.

Nasri himself has said that he was 99% done, right? So has his agent. That should mean that they’re satisfied with the money, and since his agent said that Arsenals offer was very interesting from a sporting point of view Nasri should also know that Arsenal is the best destination for him to progress.

  50. Flex Says:

    Good point Goofle.

Oh and by the way, Dare. Yeah, i think you’re a bit of a cock really.

Keep up the good work Chris

  51. Mike Says:

This a HOAX! I have checked with RMC and no recent interview has taken place with Arsene Wenger!!!

  52. Big Dave Says:

Jesus you guys dont take long to jump on the bandwagon, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were all spuds fans, just trying to put us down.

Well let me cheer you all up!!

Nasri has signed (well almost) papers have been sent off fees & wages are agreed,The transfer windows for french & Prem lge open at different times, thats the hold up.

Nasri has had his picture taken today in the Arsenal shirt at a secret location, and as soon as the papers are returned, the picture gets released onto the AFC Website, although their will be no introduction as he needs to be back with the french squad, that will have to wait.

So chill out on Mr Wenger, It’s true “Arsene Knows”

You should see announcement early part of next week.

    AFC

  53. Gooner Chris Says:

Mike, It’s a LIVE RADIO SHOW, Wenger has just been interviewed, you can download the show from their website tomorrow.

  54. RVP Says:

    Setanta have translation

  55. thegoonerforum Says:

Chris is this the same bloke that told you that Flamini was staying at Arsenal?

  56. Spike Says:

    GunneRaddish;

What kind of Gooner are you? A pre-pubescent prick?

Wah wah wah! I want him now or I’ll scream & scream till Im sick.

Twat, fuck moff and support the spuds you gloey hunting fuckwit.

  57. Gooner Chris Says:

No. that was an article from the clockenders website.

  58. gooner Says:

GET OFF GOONER CHRIS’ BACK! THE STORY IS ALL OVER SETANTA WITH QUOTES!

  59. GunnerRashidinho Says:

    WENGER YOUR A FUCKING JOKE:
“It is more complicated now because the wage differences [between the French and the English league] are not as big as they used to be.

POOR PIECE OF SHIT, IF THIS WAS CHELSEA OR MANURE THE DEAL WOULD’VE BEEN DONE AND DUSTED AGES AGO

  60. cescy Says:

give chris some respect he, unfortunately, broke the story 20 mins earlier than setanta.

  61. Seb Says:

Reading the Setanta article it looks like something familiar has come up… wages. Im starting to think what RVP said the other day is true and we need to start bumping up our wage structure or we are not going to sign any quality as all the other clubs are offering far more.

  62. thegoonerforum Says:

its also on http://sport.setanta.com now. Well done chris for being first with the news

  63. Dare Says:

Sorry Chris you were right a apologies a said that because I’m frustrated
we all of this speculation and I wanted so badly to sign player before the Euros but it looks like that will not gonna happen.

  64. LEON Says:

WENGER I THINK HAS LINE UP NASRI,FRANCIS COQHELIN AND CLEMONT CHANTOME AND I THINKHE WANTS GET VINCENT KOMPANY I SEAN THIS DEFENDER IS WORTH THE MONEY IS 6 TF 3 STRONG ,FAST AND CAN HANDLE SET PLAYS.PEOPLE SAYING THAT WE NEED SOME ONE MORE EXPWERIENCE BECAUSE HE IS 22 BUT FAB VERY EXPERIENED AND HE 20 AGE AND EXPERIENCE ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. I STILL STILL THINK WE NEED AN EXPERIENED HOLDING MIDFIELDER WITH HUGE PRESENCE. IF WE CAN AN EXCHANGE DEAL FOR HLEB AND CASH WITH TOURE WOULD BE GOOD DEAL.

  65. keith Says:

Are we going to sign anyone why is wenger relaxing” at a Merano health spa?
We need action where is all the money going ?
Time for Fitzsimounds to go we need a serious cah injection we need players now Barry,Micea Richards,Kaka

  66. TH Says:

Sweet Jesus! I swear some people are like spoiled 5 year old girls who didn’t get the make-up kit they wanted for Christmas! I’m still optimistic that Nasri will be with us next summer maybe we might need to pay a bit more but I still feel he will sign for us….But will some of you CALM DOOOOWWWWNNNN!! MY GOD! The transfer season has JUST opened! Still enough time to sign players, like they say patience is a virtue. “CHILLAX DAWG!”

  67. Angelo Says:

“Nasri, he interests me,” Wenger told RMC.

“I hope I will do it after the Euros.

“It is more complicated now because the wage differences [between the French and the English league] are not as big as they used to be.

“Just watch [Karim] Benzema. He is 20 and recently signed a new deal.

“It is very difficult [to transfer players from the French league] but England is considered one of the two top leagues and the best players want to play against the best players.”

Doesn’t sound too fucking positive does he?
What I don’t understand is how he can sit there and say that we will be reassured by two signings within two weeks with a smile on his fucking face.

“It is more complicated now because the wage differences [between the French and the English league] are not as big as they used to be.”

What??? Is he on crack? How much is he fucking offering him?

  68. Dare Says:

Wenger said that he will sih 2 or 3 players before eruos and now nothing
    :(:(:(:(:(….

  69. TH Says:

    THIS SUMMER*** apologies.

  70. Goofle Says:

We don’t need anything until the pre-season starts. Do you think we will do nothing? Shut the fuck up and stay off the internet if you are to mentally unstable to accept the reality of football.

  71. kersnort Says:

whatever happened to Nasri’s supposed photo shoot today, i suppose all that was a load of crap as well then

  72. Topgunwenger Says:

We need a hard headed business negotiator {DAVID DEIN} as for the transfers Wenger runs away to a TV studio and Ken Friar is probably a senile jerry-hat-trick.

  73. Gooner Chris Says:

Not too sure these quotes from Setanta are right. I think they’ve got them from a recent interview Wenger did with a French newspaper.

  74. Vince Says:

I heard Wenger on RMC, he really said he’ll sign him after the Euro.

He also spoke about Henry, Vieira, the Euro ..
He’s relaxing in Merano because he needs it before another long season. There’s nothing wrong with it.

  75. Seb Says:

What you dont understand Goofle is that as the transfer window continues, players prices inflate especially after a big competition. Say Nasri has a tremendous tournamant Marseille will start an auction….

  76. avss Says:

    Nasri: “Deal 99% Done”

That, along with Nasris close personal friend Ribery aswell as Nasris agent saying that he will play for Arsenal next season, leads me to believe that we will in fact sign him. I’m still waiting for an in-depth analysis and translation of what Wenger said. You must keep in mind that Nasri has been tied up with the French national team, and that the rumours concerning his “photo shoot” today have in fact been nothing more than just rumours. So I’m still optimistic.

  77. Gooner Chris Says:

    Ok, those quotes are right.

  78. Dare Says:

Goofle u are right noone of the big clubs didn’t buy any player so I’m confident that we will buy players this summer and kick the ass of man.utd and chelsa. keep it goonerish

  79. kersnort Says:

nasri definitely wont sign now, he’ll have a good tournament and someone else will sign him as the agent will be so disillusioned by money. Also, stop blaming Wenger, he tells the board who he wants and will speak to the player and his agent, but he DOESN’T do the negotiating.

  80. matt Says:

No disrespect Big Dave but how do nu know he has signed?

  81. Harry Khunthol Says:

We have probably been trying to sign him for less than the 14 million release clause.

I would guess that Marseilles have rejected our offers and now will see if a fine euro 08 will raise his reputation and force the release clause to be met.

We wont meet it knowing us.

Nasri may have agreed personal terms with us, but the clubs obviously havent.

  82. thegoonerforum Says:

Spurs to sign Nasri and Ben Arfa. “Wenger I hope to sign 3 new player before 2011”

  83. Martin Says:

if they havent already agreed a price thats really bad news because if he performs well his asking price will increase after Euro 2008.

  84. Daniel Says:

I can’t believe this really….. i changed my mind I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SEE USMANOV TAKING OVER ARSENAL !

  85. cescy Says:

usmanov should fuck off, wenger needs to be shown the financials from the recent annual report and adjust his wage budget and his mentailty to some extent

  86. matt Says:

Im going 2 b so gutted if we don,t get nasri.

  87. avss Says:

“A £12.5 million deal was reportedly agreed between Marseille and Arsenal last week while the Frenchman was set to have a medical and seal personal terms with the club during the one-day break he had off from the French national team on Monday.”

This monday (tomorrow), or the previous one?

  88. jamJam Says:

This is a joke man, I’m actually beginning not to care who we sign this summer. This transfer saga has just ruined the excitement of any Arsenal transfers and wasted millions of peoples time. it’s an embarrassment to football and it’s not the way Man u, chelsea, liverpool, Barcelona, real madrid or anyone else does their transfer deals!
    KMT

  89. Harry Khunthol Says:

    grow up daniel.

martin – he has a release clause, so the asking price wont change. we are obviously not meeting that asking price…

marseilles arent stupid, why the fuck would they sell him before euro 08, to a club not willing to meet their valuation when they can wait and see whether nasri shines at euro 08 and more clubs become interested

  90. Seb Says:

Just read the Setanta article again and I dont understand how Nasri who was 99% certain he was going to be an Arsenal player has now said he wont commit himself till the end of the Euros. There are 2 possibilities for this, 1) He wants to concentrate fully on the tournament and not think about the transfer 2) He’s holding out for more money if he does have a good tournament> Personally if I was him I would have got it over and done with before the Euros begin and then you dont have anything to worry about but Im guessing we didnt offer him enough money to start with, theyve held out for more, and its taken so long to sort out he’s said come back to me in July. Lets hope other teams keep away or we may be regretting our negotiating skills.

  91. Daniel Says:

Eboue on the WING , yeee !

  92. Spike Says:

    Oh look;

Not taken much for the likkle spoilt cry babies to show their true colours has it?

    Fucking pathetic jokers.

Ooh diddums, now you want some dodgy as fuck Russian rapist to take over the club so he can buy all those Fantasy Manager signings?

Do you really think the fat ManU supporting gangster wants to put his OWN money into the club?

The guy aint no Abramovich. The sooner people realise that the better.

Peeing your effin nappies over a throwawy comment from a French radio show really is not a good look.

  93. Daniel Says:

Harry Khunthol , i’m really pissed i was really expecting Nasri to come in Arsenal….We missed so much players cos of “few more bucks”..i’m really tired of it 😦

  94. cescy Says:

its not a throw away comment its from wenger! and i agree with you on usmanov

  95. phil Says:

Well seems we have lost out again. How frustrating, I was quite excited about nasri. I dont believe wages are the only prob though. Wenger seemes to dilly dally a bit with transfers. He would rather miss out then be rushed. He still might sign I suppose. We need 1 or 2 new signings (not as many as some people think) but I hope we dont just end up with replacements. On the positive side, it was a defender that was the priority. We have loads of options in attack.
Dont lose heart my friends! Arsene knows

  96. RVP Says:

Anybody hoping France go out in the group stages so its done quick?

  97. joetodd Says:

Nasri might have a crap euro 08? Anyone thought of that?

  98. GunnerRashidinho Says:

What are the chances of that happening joetodd?

  99. si Says:

Does anyone else think that maybe Wenger should have one more season?

He has been a fantastic manager, but i along with a lot of you am fed up with reading these great players slip through our fingers, because wenger thinks they are too expensive!. Thats what it comes dowm to at end of day.

Wiltord great as he was, is one if not our transfer record signing at some stupidly low fee, that says alot. I wanted Ribery,Babel Shaun Wright Philips and many many others.

I just want the glory days back. Scum are winning things even tho its mickey mouse cup! A strength in depth is what we need and sorry Wenger maybe past that ,great as he has been

I hope he proves me wrong im just a fed up angry Arsenal fan!

  100. jim Says:

we aint gonna sign him stupid wenger we prob aint gettin no one da euro finishes wen da prem starts so der aint gonna be time wat a wasteman

  101. GunnerRashidinho Says:

Would Arsene Wenger ever read this stuff, he’s the most stubborn person i’ve ever seen

  102. Gooner Chris Says:

What are the chances of that happening joetodd?

Big chances of that happening. He isn’t expected to start many games which will obviously mean less time to impress.

  103. Upsethooligan Says:

THIS MAKES ME UPSET AS AN ARSENAL FAN,
I THINK THAT ARSENE WENGER HAS THE DUTY AND SHOULD HAVE THE RESPECT TO REALISE THAT ARSENAL NEED BIGGER, AND MORE EXPERIENCED PLAYERS TO COMPETE IN THEIR TEAM NEXT YEAR, THIS IS JUST ONE PLAYER AND IF WE CAN’T GET HIM WE WILL REPEAT WHAT WE HAVE DONE FOR 3 SEASONS IN A ROW… WIN NOTHING =(

  104. Harry Khunthol Says:

Yes it is disappointing, and it would have been great to sign him before the euros. If he signes after 08, then good, if he doesnt, then so be it!

Arsene knows we need creative players, especially if (when) Hleb goes. Hes already said as much. Lets not panic. There are more players out there than Samir bloody Nasri

  105. mj85 Says:

didnt wenger say that if he doesnt sign before the euros it probably wont happen??

  106. Bunts Says:

A few weeks ago nobody had heard of the bloke, now you’re all concerned about him not signing. For all we know he might be a pile of shit.

  107. GunnerRashidinho Says:

“We’ll have a championship challenging side next year”

I’ll never believe that since you couldn’t live up to a simple promise of making a signing in the 2-3 weeks you said.

  108. james Says:

i realy dont know if i think if this is true because them quots do not
    souund like arsen wenger

  109. Spike Says:

    Hahahahahaha!

reading some of the pathetic glory hunters on here!!!

    Hilarious.

  110. GunnerRashidinho Says:

“IF IT DOES HAPPEN, it’ll be before the Euros”

    Its not happening

  111. this sucks..all these players linked, its all bullshit..this is starting to get ridiculous, with wenger’s lies, ive defended him time n time again, but all he’s doing is lying,

first he says 3 weeks for all his signings to be done, then says nasri will be signed b4 the euros, then says i wont be going on holiday i will be very busy getting the right players in, yet he’s chilling in a spa, “resting”,

    – goodness me what a load of heavenly bollocks uve fed us arsene. Every year “we will sign two/three super super class players” lol, wenger the king bollocker.

  112. avss Says:

mj85 Well Wenger said “If it happens it will probably be before the Euros” ..

    http://youngguns.wordpress.com/2008/05/24/news-updates-jibril-nasri-vela-merida-pedro/

“This was proven as RMC told their listeners exactly what i said before, that he had been in London recently and had taken a medical before agreeing personal terms. Then last night French team mate Franck Ribery let slip he had left Marseille for the Premier League, all but confirming Nasri’s transfer to Arsenal. RMC also said that the deal would be completed and announced on Monday.”

How credible is RMC, one might ask? First they confirmed that he had completed the deal and now this?

  113. Dean Says:

Alright Gooner Chris. It still wouldn’t be an enormous surprise if the signing was announced in he near future. All the information suggests that the player has agreed terms and the stumbling block is between the clubs, if anywhere. If this is the case, the situation could change at any moment. The club also said that all transfers would be sorted by 7th June. Wenger is a world of smoke and mirrors when it comes to transfers.

  114. Gooner Chris Says:

I think the problem is not Nasri in particular, it’s the departure of Dein and now Edelman.

  115. Gooner Chris Says:

RMC are a well respected radio. Ribery is knowing for his “pranks”, i’m not saying that he made it up but Wenger wasn’t on the show to confirm it was he? This time he is, and thats why its genuine.

  116. TORY Says:

Axxhxxe Wxxkxr fxxk off to Penis St German

  117. Hot Him Up Says:

    Arsene = Suck ur Mum
uv pissd us fellow gooners around too much, u dont see any other top 3 club from Europe pussyfooting around in their negotiations… Be straight with us, you either have him or you don’t and i guarantee you Arsene Wenger knows. His stubborn attitude is really beginning to frustrate me, all the time i hear “2-3 super players” as rashidinho said, and he never delivers. If Wenger were perhaps more forward and obvious with his comments there would be a lot less resentment in Arsenal fans hearts..

  118. mj85 Says:

    thanks avss.

What do you think avss? do you think we will still get him?

  119. Ricky Says:

WHAT A JOKE!! WHEN IT COMES TO THE TRANSFER WINDOW ARSENAL & AW ARE IN THE CONFERENCE LEAUGE.

HOPE IM WRONG BUT I CANT SEE HIM SIGNING MORE THEN 2 DECENT PLAYERS & A COUPLE 15YR OLDS THIS YEAR..

  120. si Says:

Did he do this 2 week deadline rubbish to shut us fans up?, cos its gotta be three weeks up surely??

I heard about Nasri last year but never expected us to get this close to signing someone good again!

Thing is Wenger is not making our squad stronger. He is replacing players and i bet he replaces the tramp from within Diaby i think even tho he is not ready and injury prone.

  121. Seb Says:

Lets hope France dont get through the group of death and then we might get some good news on the transfer front! I am disappointed with this news as everyone and with the possibility of Hleb leaving this week, our summer might get worse before it gets better. You dont think we are waiting to see what happens with Hleb before signing Nasri because that would be shooting ourselves in the foot.

  122. Daniel Says:

Tory if Wenger leave there will be not even a chance Nasri to sign…cos he is 70 % coming cos of Wenger…

  123. Dean Says:

I think that this coud be a ploy be the club to give the transfer more effect. It has been a “done deal” for weeks now, so confirmation would have barely registered. Now, with all the fans apparently predicting the end of Arsenal, it would seem like a real coup.

  124. avss Says:

    mj85/
Judging by all the sites and sources claiming he will sign I still think we will sign him. If any other club had entered the race we would’ve probably heard something about it in the press. The worst thing that could happen now is, I guess, that Nasri has an amazing tournament and attracts money-spending clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid.

  125. Big Dave Says:

I can’t give away too much as I wont put a friends career in Jeopardy to satisy a few spoilt school kids. (not including you Matt)

    But its done deal…….

  126. Jay Says:

People need to chill out for a little bit. All this talk of Wenger out and such is pathetic, all because we havnt signed Nasri yet… I mean the translations and such of his interview have been taken out of context by many of us. He’s probably in a relaxed mood and his comments may have been nonchalant and carefree. I think all of the comments by Ribery and the French commentators from the Paraguay game literally tell us that Nasri’s mind is made up so he has already chosen Arsenal, Marseille cant sell Nasri to a higher bidder than Arsenal because its the player who decides on which club he wants to join.

  127. mj85 Says:

i know thats what the worry is for me to! i personally dont think this will happen now. i know arsenal to well they always tease you and then nothing!

  128. cois57 Says:

every other fucking team buys but arsenal seem to source players force them into hte spotlight and than cry when the mancs or cunts from russia show interest and outbid and pay more .wenger its not your money so please buy someone anyone but not anothere summer of the shite endured last year

  129. avss Says:

Jay/ Yeah, that’s exactly my point.

  130. Gooner Chris Says:

Dave, you know as much as we know.

  131. Tristan Says:

Oh well hehehe oh Boy , i hate to say this really now, this seems like pretty much the same as what happened Ribery, came the season and surprise surprise WE did NOT sign him , okay i really don’t think we will sign him , and the chances of US siging some Good ones after the Euro and sooooo SKINNY… Thanks Gooner_Chris For Post mate , and ignore some gooners in here who actually doesn’t appreciate the troumendous Effort. Keep up the Good work Mate :), Cheers!

  132. Gooner Chris Says:

    Cheers Tristan 😉

  133. mj85 Says:

    Big Dave,

Do you have some good sources then close to the club?

  134. Dean Says:

Ribery was never announced as a done deal and as soon as Bayern Munich offered 18m out of desperation, we were out of the running. At the time he was not worth the money, even though he has been a bargain in retrospect. I really do think that we have to calm down and give Wenger the trust he deserves.

  135. Gooner Chris Says:

Yeah, his sources are Arsenal.com and Young Guns.

  136. Mkdr Says:

hmm not looking good is it,

well im sorry 2 say but i can see us getting beaten to his signature

nasri is the kind of signing we need however i believe if he peforms well at the tournament then r. madrid will try to get him

  137. Nasri-the man himself Says:

Guys, guys, guys. I am not signing for you – you can all eat my shit.

  138. si Says:

agreed to a point Jay mate, but agents seem to find away to get more money and it takes two good games in euros and madrid barca etc get interested and chelsea buy players for sake of it we all know that hope im wrong over Wenger i love the guy but he makes me so angry lol!!!!!!!!

  139. Daniel Says:

OMG , why u are doing this to us… why!?!??! :)))

  140. GERARD Says:

get wenger out the fucking door.i,ve had enough of his shitty fuckin transfer dealings.

  141. Dean Says:

On balance of evidence, including statements from the club, Wenger, and the player himself, this deal will happen in the near future. This is a ploy to give the signing a bigger impact.

  142. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

im basically gonna jump on the band wagon here like eveyone else has and say this is bollocks can’t even make a simple signing now. what is happening to arsenal there fucking going down the drain im really not gonna expect anything to come from this now,we will probably end up with piotr trochowski.arsene wenger is starting to chat even more crap now i reckon hes losing the plot

  143. Hot Him Up Says:

wenger is seriously getting on my nerves. No top team as we are so called, plays around during negotiations like arsenal do, the board really needs to sort out its transfer and contract policies because their stubborness will only backfire because the world of football is advancing and leaving Arsenal behind. If you dont believe take a look at the list of world class players we were SUPPOSED to get but somehow mysteriously missed out on (They could have made a vital difference towards the end of last season)..
    Babel —- now liverpool
    Ribery —– now Bayern Munich
    Malouda —–now Chelsea
    ShaunWP—–now Chelsea

    C’EST RIDICULE

  144. Spike Says:

If you sad fuckwits aint spuds taking the piss and actually are Gooners, then I am fucking ashamed that you support the same club as me.

All wetting yourselves about how we never sign anyone on the fucking 1st of June???

You sad, deluded Fantasy manger loving dumb fucks.

Shit, you even give Glory hunters a bad name.

  145. Dave S Says:

Here’s my theory and shoot it down as much as you want but in my mind it’s the logical answer. Nasri has been signed! but it won’t be confirmed till the “New season” as we have that 12mil net spend thing agreed in with the stadium meaning if Wenger announced the signing and paid the funds now all other tranfers he wants to do pre-Euros wouldn’t be able to happen hence he may miss out on players or lose them to inflated prices. With Nasri having a buyout clause thats not an issue so they can choose when the deal goes through.

with the deals from last summer taken into account and a negative net spend it would allow wenger 15-18m to spend pre euros should he wish to rather than 2-5 if he announced the Nasri deal.

Feel free to pick fault but you have to admit it does make sense, and should stop some of theworries out there. 🙂

  146. Gooner Chris Says:

People need to chill out for a little bit. All this talk of Wenger out and such is pathetic, all because we havnt signed Nasri yet… I mean the translations and such of his interview have been taken out of context by many of us. He’s probably in a relaxed mood and his comments may have been nonchalant and carefree. I think all of the comments by Ribery and the French commentators from the Paraguay game literally tell us that Nasri’s mind is made up so he has already chosen Arsenal, Marseille cant sell Nasri to a higher bidder than Arsenal because its the player who decides on which club he wants to join.

Totally agree with Jay, the move will almost certainly be complete after the Euros.

  147. Mkdr Says:

anyway does anyone think he will still be coming to the emirates

and does anyone know any other targets that might be coming in?

does this also mean we re-kindle intrest in ben arfa??

    i need answers

i say in wenger we trust but its becoming hard to trust in him

  148. mj85 Says:

what annoys me is ever since the b.ham game its been hard being an arsenal fan. everything has gone against us. flamini, hleb everythings going wrong. just when we think something big with nasri is gona happen we are kept in the dark. us arsenal fans need a lift this summer! cmon wenger do it for us!

  149. Arsene Wenger Says:

Fuck you all to be honest. I generally can’t be bothered to buy Samir Nasri. Infact, i could sign him now, but the truth is i am an undercover Yid who enjoys seeing Arsenal fans suffer 🙂
    Toodaloo

  150. davey is a wanka, davey is a wanka

    la la la laaaaaaa
    la la la laaaaaaa

  151. Jay Says:

I dunno Wenger always wants to be low key about everything…its very rarely that he comments on the transfer of a player. If you look at most of the transfer sagas that have gone on this is the first one that Wenger really commented about. Usually when a reporter asks him about a particular transfer target he is usually not to keen about it and tries to discredit it. I guess he wasn’t too happy about the papers making a lot of noise about Nasri to Arsenal saga, so he decided to say so and so player will not sign after the Euros, maybe to drop the excitment. I dunno thats my 5 pence view on it

  152. Arsene Wenger Says:

    errrrr
    errrr
I bet you can’t guess errr who i am going to sign? errr

  153. Dean Says:

I think you could be on the right lines with that Jay. I wouldn’t trust anything Wenger says unless its about an existing Arsenal player.

  154. goona Says:

i cant beleive the peeple on here honestly if nasri dunt sign its not the end, before any one new he was linked u dint giv a shiit if he signed or not if all this specualtion dint crop up!!! and he probably will sign i jus think its awkward to come from international mathces just to sign i think nasri tryen to concentrate on france

  155. avss Says:

I do think we will sign Nasri, but if we by some freak nature fail to do so I’m not really that worried. Babel didn’t sign, Ribery didn’t sign etc etc but then out of nowhere Wenger signs players of the calibre of Sagna and Eduardo for virtually nothing and saves our asses. I will be happy with any signing Wenger makes because he always knows best.

Although I have grown quite fond of Nasri 🙂

  156. si Says:

Its not just the Nasri deal its all the quality players we were so near to.
Is anyone fed up with no trophies, but we are building for three more seasons. Wenger is a legend but come on this is Arsenal we have no trophies again!!!!! i dont care about building anymore i want to cheer them on at Wembley or see them in cl final again or see a trophy held high in Emirates stadium

  157. Mkdr Says:

    who feels frustrated???

  158. kersnort Says:

shut up u moody glory hunting bastards.

I think that u are forgetting that in all this we are still favourites for Nari’s signature. Yes it is frustarting and i dont like the way Arsenal do business, but all this talk of Wenger out is absolutely ridiculous. U should all be ashamed this guy has been perhaps are best ever manager and an Arsenal legend.
Also, Nasri might be signed u never know, u can’t believe all this paper talk, maybe Wenger wants to wait until after the Euros to announce it??

  159. Mkdr Says:

also Hot Him Up those players you listed

we were only linked with through the media

so get your facts right mate

and what is hot him up all about anyway :S

  160. if that was the case jay he wudnt have been talking up the nasri signing getting fan’s hopes up in the first place.

i guess when we’ve all calmed down and the summer is over we’ll think “wenger knows” as im sure he’ll get the right players in before the summer’s over.

there’s a reason for all the player’s we’ve been linked with.

  161. David "Mean Machine" Dean Says:

    HAHA
Arsene has really put u lot in the shit now ent’ he 😉
Bet they wish they kept me now..
    Fags…

EDIT: I’M A SMELLY YID, I’VE GOT NO FRIENDS.. LA LA LA LA

  162. Gooner Chris Says:

by the way mate, it’s DEIN, not DEAN. 🙂

  163. TH Says:

I still believe he will sign or HAS signed. Yesterday the commentator said it was official that Arsenal had in fact signed him for 17 million, now from all of the stuff I’ve read concerning transfers,a commentator is not allowed to speak so boldly live on air about a team signing a player in that manner,my father is good friends with a FIFA licensed referee (although he doesn’t officiate big important matches since he only got licensed few months ago) he has also said they are not supposed to speak about transfers unless a player has REALLY SIGNED! So something is going on that none of us no about. My advise is…calm down before you blow an artery!

  164. chris Says:

    fuck off you fucking jew

  165. Lew Says:

pfff what a deflating article…we definitely do need some quality players, although experienced ones would be the better choice. Our squad lacks real depth and Wenger isn’t staying true to his word, why get the fans hopes up by saying ‘i’ll sign a few players before the euro’s, (nasri being one of them)’ and now it’s going to after the euro’s…if you’re not 100% sure of signing someone then don’t say you are…dear me, some urgency wouldn’t go amiss and the wage issue again pffffft how many times have we heard this, how many great players have arsenal missed out on because of this issue, dearest me

  166. Dean Says:

This is all speculation. Wenger is notoriously slippery over transfers, so rather than get excited, sit back and be patient. Why would he set himself up for the fall by stating that he fans should be encouraged by the signings he would make in the next 2/3 weeks. He woudn’t. This is shite, he’d never let us down, he loves this club.

WE’RE THE BOYS IN RED AND WHITE
    AND WE’RE FUCKING DYNAMITE
AND JUANDE RAMOS’ MOTHER IS A WHOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  168. Mkdr Says:

I heard we signed bacary sagna

  169. Jay Says:

Si…lots of Big clubs have a down period..usually they splurge with 50+ million pounds or euros just to rebuild the squad so those clubs usually dont have a large transition period. I think the way Wenger is rebuilding, is a lot slower so we fans just have have to be patient. If you look at this year alone I could say that it was successful from the other two years of transition because we made dramatic progress something that made me happy to see. I think Wenger sees how close we were to winning things so he is going to make some slight adjustments in the squad to finally make us go the full 100 percent

  170. Gunner4life&beyond Says:

Wow, this is so pathetic. I can’t believe my fellow Arsenal fans are going on like this. If Nasri doesn’t sign, it’s not the end of the Earth.

Wenger doesn’t personally deal with every aspect of a transfer, so stop persecuting him. Our transfers are normally done fairly well. Spurs got one, I repeat ONE quality signing done and quickly, now everyone’s having a heart attack since we haven’t done the same.

Truly sad and pathetic. Everything will be ok, just calm down and relax.

  171. si Says:

Sorry but spurs fans dont have lifes or there own blogs cos no one cares about there team so they come on here cos it makes them feel special

  172. talawah Says:

    deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep breaths.

  174. Harry Khunthol Says:

it would have been nice to have the nasri deal wrapped up pre-euro 08, but its not to be. despite AW’s plans to bring players in before the tournament begins, it now looks as if we will have to wait.

I think ppl need a reality check and need to chill out. there is so much time left before the season starts. AW knows how close we got last year and has said exactly what we are missing.

he will sign what we need, but not as quickly as we would like. Unfortunate, but thats the way it is.

    get over it

  175. si Says:

I agree with you Jay but just does me in seeing shit teams when we should of won league we lost it utd didnt win it

  181. gunnernet Says:

Seriously i think that if the transfer is going to complete after Euros it wont happen..Real waits on Cristiano Ronaldos decision..If they cant get him they will propably go after Diego or Nasri..MAybe thats the offer that Nasris ageny talk about earlier..

  182. gunnernet Says:

I know that he may did it for more pounds but what if thats true?

  183. TH Says:

You know that was a joke right?

  184. Gunner4life&beyond Says:

Well, now I’ve seen the rest of the comments he made, it really doesn’t look good. Talking about bloody wages, fucking hell, unless he wants over 70 grand a week I don’t see why it would be that much of an issue.

  185. si Says:

Do you think there is good chance papers will say nasri didnt sign cos of money etc normally happens and we will be linked with someone we all have never heard of

  186. gunnernet Says:

  192. Gooner Chris Says:

He’ll get a run out Second Half mate.

  193. Angelo Says:

Isn’t it weird how everything is so close yet so far with Arsenal….on all levels.

Nearly win the title….fall at the final hurdle.
Nearly get to the semis of the champions league….stumble
Nearly beat the top teams after taking the lead….somehow fuck that right up
Nearly sign Nasri….let’s wait and see

All you Wenger lovers need to get a grip because you are what we define as losers.
Two title wins is not the grounds for everlasting gratitude.

Hell Mourinho won that in a few years and look what happened to him.

I’ve actually heard Wenger say that a manager is only as good as his last game…weeeell coz he’s so good i’ll give him a couple of seasons instead. Psshhh….I’m feeling generous i’ll give him three. I’m drawing a blank…nothing. Ohh wait good football and a superiority complex. Great….roll on next fucking season for another hit of near misses…. if we’re lucky.

  194. Danish Gooner Says:

…….and what if Nasri gets injured during the Euros, nothing will happen before after the euros that is a fact. What worries me more is Wenger trying to save some money and playing Djourou next year, desr god let him see the light !!!!

  195. gunnernet Says:

Of course and i think Si that Wenger has no money available.Maybe he has a small amount..Just think..If arsenal let everyone kno wthey have aproximately 10-15 m then anyone who is interested in one player we are interested they would raise their offer just to set us off the race..

  196. T.Ge Says:

    he will sign hopefully
but this blog is a piece of shit! arsene is in africa looking at a 7 year old kid called adbigini , next eboue or sumin….

  197. Gooner Chris Says:

Some people are so thick, you’re either joking or plain stupid T.Ge

  198. gunnernet Says:

None comment on Wengers 2nd phrase. Just look at Karim Benzema. He is talking about wages.Maybe Arsenal did contact Lyon but the fee pulled us off.. We have no money wake up…

  199. si Says:

Truth is tho end of day if Wenger had a press conference tomorrow with villa,Richards,Santos,Toure and ben arfa it would be whos Nasri? football is a fickle thing lol sorry im dreaming again

  200. GunnerRashidinho Says:

Does anyone think we should get Vicente Del Bosque in the future IF wenger leaves?

  201. si Says:

im thick but who is he ??????

  202. Lew Says:

yet another adventurous team selection by bore jaw, oh no we can’t have pace, no walcott running past players at ease, we need downing and beckham waddling into players and defoe fluffing every chance he gets, we’re never going to play exciting football under small chin

  203. RVP Says:

I think there was something to do wit Benzema in that interview, “Just watch [Karim] Benzema. He is 20 and recently signed a new deal.” why did he use Benzema and not Nasri he just recently signed a new deal aswell

  204. si Says:

i think he was just commenting on players he enjoyed to watch he will be majorly linked with him now tho

  205. RVP Says:

Or hopefully he will pull off a triple deal of Nasri, Ben Arfa and Benzema tomorrow hahaha

  206. si Says:

i know ppl say we dont need all those players but it would be a great bench like utd’s and chelsea’s

  207. rrezartt Says:

I dont understand wenger beacuse he said sign two or three before euro 2008 and now he sign nothingg :S:S

I think arsenal palying next season with Djourou midfielder
if wenger dont get anyplayers lose tittle or an cup :s

wenger get nasrin before euro 2008 beacuse nasri play very well in euro 2008 price for 25 milionn :s

  208. RVP Says:

Surely we could find a way to make them fit in, Arsene is praising Benzema again on Setanta

  209. cesc2fab Says:

fellow gooners…never get excited in the transfer window when it comes to arsenal signing players…90% you get let down!

  210. RVP Says:

Hopefully Arsene is saying this so the transfer will be a shock if it were to happen soon but we’ll have to wait and see

  211. gunnernet Says:

Wenger is not liar..He said we are going to get an addition player b4 Euros in the 2- 3 first weeks..We got Vela..We didnt have him last year..End of transfers..Get ready for anew trophyless season but with a lot potential..Come on Eboue!!!!!

  212. gooner me Says:

if wenger misses this one to,then i never seen a biger idiot, just like in david villa cae,the player says he wants to play for arsenal then wenger says that bendtner needs rto develop(what the fuck, what to develop, because of his we didnt beat lpool at home ,because he is so bog and so stupid and the ball hit him on the goal line),so what are we looking in champions league if we dont aford to buy a player like villa with 30 mil$ when athor clubs spend 30 mil on a defender.i cant understen how arsenal doesent have money when the stadium is full at every game, and after henry leaved and we brought eduardo and viera leaved to,also reyes, were those money go?

  213. matt Says:

Cheers Big Dave thats understandable that u dont want 2 jepordise a mates job.

  214. gooner me Says:

what about the fact that nasri had the foto shot today,ho said that?

  215. Harry Khunthol Says:

the rumour he had a photo shoot was never a ‘fact’ gooner me. its probly bullshit

  216. Gunner Jillu Says:

this is becoming a farce. I had so much trust in Wengers words of I will reasure Arsenal fans within three weeks. Cant be bothered to check for any updates anymore. If the guy has a good tournament we will be outbid by everyone.

  217. RVP Says:

anything to brighten the mood lads?

  218. gooner me Says:

thanks,i also saw that someone was sayng that he will be presented on the official site tomorow because arsenal doesnt present their players on sunday :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

  219. RVP Says:

Agree Jillu, i love Arsene but why ay we would be reasured if we wouldn’t be?

  220. Gunner Jillu Says:

You do photo shoots with journalists and I am sure Journalists cannot keep their mouth shut for 5 minutes let alone a day

  221. gooner me Says:

did you saw that barca signed seydou keita and also milan zambrotta and they didnt made such a big thing and instead of talking they actioned.

  222. Gunner Jillu Says:

What happened to the 200 players ringing us up to sign for us?????? Are none of them any good?

  223. RVP Says:

Or maybe they could be done with the club photographer mate

  224. RVP Says:

ye i saw, they must not be any use ha

  225. Gunner Jillu Says:

naa does not work like that, the norm is to introduce to the press with him doing a few keepy upys wearing an Arsenal shirt. Unless he is some unknown. And sounds like the “new zidane” is not an unknown

  226. RVP Says:

Tomas Rosicky wasn’t though, there was just a oicture of him with a ball on Arsenal.com but he hadn’t even got the jersey on

  227. Gunner Jillu Says:

feel i have wasted the last three weeks checking websites for info on players we signed… Had the wife in my ear on why I keep checking the internet and all for nothing

  228. gooner me Says:

just how lassana diarra was sayng ,if your players want to go then you have a problem and they dont trust you.it is not a plasure at all to see that all the good players from your team make their self a litle name and after that they want to leave.why does hleb wants to go,because of the city, dont think so ,because how adebayor sayd some players are not good enough for arsenal and their waisting their career so players like bendtner can “develop”..thats not right.

  229. Gunner Jillu Says:

pretty pissed off we dont make a good signing before the Euros start…. feel that we been let down by promises

  230. RVP Says:

our signings will probably be nobodys

  231. Gunner Jillu Says:

Anyway I am off, nice chatting but the way things look, we dont have the finacial clout to clinch any deals on good players. I know if I was managing any good team and I saw AW was interested in a player I would be in their trying to sign him, as AW not often wrong about players

  232. gooner me Says:

RVP,at what time after the newspapers sayd the deal is official was rosisky presented on arsenal.com? how about clement from psg i readet that we signed him but he is not on the site?

  233. RVP Says:

I dont know mate i just remember waiting for months to see what number Tom was and what the new jersey was like, i have the pic on my other computer, I haven’t heard anything about chantome, who would you realistically like us to get for next season?

  234. Seb Says:

Nasri will still come, he probably wants to concentrate on France at the moment. He knows Wenger will do his career the world of good and Wenger hardly is ever optomistic and never talks about transfer unless hes pretty sure he’ll come. Even the player said he’s 99% going to come. He’ll be here at the start of the new season.

  235. RVP Says:

Hope so Seb, who do you think we will get for next season?

  236. Seb Says:

I personally think we will get 2 ‘big’ signings and then one for the future. Richard Dunne wouldnt be a bad signing if hes happy not being guaranteed a first team place and the defence is certainly somewhere we need some experience as we make too many mistakes – esp if any of the back four regs are out. If we dont get Nasri though, I will be pissed!

  237. Seb Says:

    Who would you want RVP?

  238. gooner me Says:

well i think that yaya would be great because he is not just a good player but he is very ambitios and agresevly, and in my opinion better than flamin, but the very firs signing i would like to see david villa but how we all now wenger i would hve to imagine how it would be like him to play for arsenal or just to play with him on fifa 2008 or ather games.i think that only with david villa in our team we could win the title and the champios league because in stead of flamini we have diaby and in stead of hleb we have walcott.

  239. Seb Says:

David Villa would be a great signing but only if Robin or Ade goes, as we have 6 first team strikers at the moment.

  240. RVP Says:

I would like Veloso but only at a cheap price but I would settle for Lorik Cana from Marseille hes a bit of a hard man and strong in the tackle and Kompany aswell as Nasri

  241. Seb Says:

Kompany would be good but he is injury prone

  242. RVP Says:

I think he is good though, is Albiol any use? What do you think of Cana? I heard Veloso described earlier as Petit Mark2

  243. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

i would like to see ronaldo.robinho, kaka, diego and eto’o at arsenal do you think that is gonna happen people.

  244. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

we cant even afford to give nasri £2 quid a week

  245. gooner me Says:

we had 6 at the begining and at the end we had 3 because walcott was playng on the wing.but i thing david villa would be great even if we had 20 strikers, you will see at euro,in my opinion in the first 3 strikers in the world, dont get me wrong i think that ade and r.v.p. are the best strikers in england but why not have 3 best strikers from england and there are a lot of games so they all can play regulary,or a solution is like r.v.p to play on the wing like he did at the begining or how he plays at holland.anyway even with those we were linked with we would be unstopoble(ben arfa ,nasri ,yaya)but hard to think it would be so.

  246. Harry Khunthol Says:

im sure villa will have a great euro 2008 and his price will escalate even further out of our reach.

id forget this little dream chaps

  247. James Says:

There’s a lot of angry folk on this post!

A minor setback in the signing and people act as if they’ve seen the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse coming over the horizon.

To whomever it was that bought Wengers transfer policy into question: I’m proud of the way we buy players, just look at our history. I’ve very faith we’ll get Nasri, even if it means waiting a little longer than expected.

  248. gooner me Says:

veloso will not be cheap, man u are after him and they ofer 20 $sow…..albiol and kompany are bouth great, dont now wath to say about cana .

  249. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

yeah arsenal have gone 4 years without making any more history im getting pretty tired of it.a club like arsenal should not be going through a faze like this

  250. gooner me Says:

what is arsenals transfer budget for this year, does anyone nows?

  251. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

    about £2 quid

  252. RVP Says:

Why are Man U after him? they have Hargreaves and Carrick, could Albiol be our no nonsence defender? Im still confident about Nasri

  253. RVP Says:

    Does Veloso play like Petit?

  254. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

fuck veloso hes shit did anyone see him play against rangers

  255. gooner me Says:

albiol is quite knowned and if he leaves valencia wont let him go cheap .about nasri i am confident to because the player wants to come and because if it was for the money he would not chose arsenal because i am sure that real would give him a biger salary from the bigining.but it more secure to be before euro. i dont undestean what is not done with nasr because the plaer said that is 99%,so he likes his salary ,could be the club or the agent?

  256. RVP Says:

Yeah i saw him he wasn’t great but has been good every other time i have seen him

  257. RVP Says:

possibly the fee isn’t large enough

  258. gooner me Says:

i saw veloso at last summer under 21 and it was prety good but with rangers probrably the same problem that most of the players have with the pace and the speed but i think we have already better players like diaby, even denilson.

  259. gooner me Says:

i watch football a lot but rangers and sporting are not quite my favorite teams so dont get me rong.

  260. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

exactly diaby in the middle of the park is 10 times better then veloso

  261. RVP Says:

    I understand mate

  262. RVP Says:

    Diaby aint Defensive enough though

  263. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

thank you theres no point getting this veloso we got diaby just wait when you see him inj the middle of the park only then you will see the true replacement for vieira

  264. gooner me Says:

i saw diaby in many games and he is a very good defensive player only that wenger played him on the left ,also rosisky could play in the center and i think that he would be much better ,his passing is brilliant .

  265. RVP Says:

But there aint enough balance Rosicky and Cesc like to attack

  266. gooner me Says:

onestly i think diaby is better then flamini and also lassana diarra, you probably saw him with paraguay, and even france coach agrees with me because he left flamini at home .its my opinion you can blame it ,i have no problem.

  267. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

im telling you i watched him for the u-21s before we signed him trust me he is defensive enough he ran the show in that game i even said to myself he is the ideal replacement for vieira.

  268. gooner me Says:

thats true rvp but we anyway dont defend ourself very often because we always atack so why not risk?

  269. gooner me Says:

and about flamini ,i dont know were he will play at milan because there is ambrosini and gatuso is not leaving anymore.

  270. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

    fuck flamini hes a cunt

  271. BOY-BETTER-KNOW Says:

This guy jack wilshere is going to be a sick player. He is a clone of hleb this is a talent that needs to be carefully nurtured he is an outstanding player i hope too see him in the carling cup next season

  272. bergy Says:

Arsene is one of the best managers but when it come to completing transfer his so damn stubborn.1st he said if we sign nasri it will be before euro2008 or not at all .no suddenly is might happen after euro2008.he is really starting to piss me off

  273. jason Says:

arsene is a fucking twat.how come does it take so long to sign 1 bloody player.and the wages from france to england excuse is horse shit.
    fuck he irritates me.

how can manu chelsea barca liverpool even spurs take alot faster to sign someone?

  274. Barnsy Says:

    Jason

Not everything is black and white. Its not just a matter of putting pen to paper.

Has Man U signed anyone yet?

Why rush things anyway? Anyone would think that if we fail to sign someone before Euro 2008 then the club will fold.

    You’re the twat, Jason.

  275. mo Says:

i feel let down. arsene is letting me down. big names are connected with our team everyday. we have players saying that they wanna come here (david villa) and we dont even consider acting on them or making an offer of any sort. we have players that are essentially signed for us apparantly (nasri) but we cant seem to meet their demands. we have a player that our coach and manager really are interested and want (ben arfa) and he isnt doing shit to sign them. i mean i love arsene, i have faith in his coaching techniques, and his skill for finding stars, but you gotta sign some big proven stars and names.SPEND SOME CASH. i know we have structures and policies, but if we do it right, we can get any players we want that we know will perform and win us matches. i mean Benzema, dos santos, quaresma, david villa, ben arfa, robinho all are dominant players who have made a name on the stage of football somehow. they might not be team leaders but they know how to play and play arsenal style football. I am sad to say I dont see any signings to IMPROVE our team. i see a few signings to fill in spots that are now left blank (flamini, hleb, eduardo) but we will just buy players to fill them in. they will be unheard of signings, which might turn out to be great, but we cant test this EVERY season.. we are not bolstering or enhancing our team. we are just fixing a ship that slowly seems to be falling apart. we need to sign attacking and direct players. no more hleb/rosicky type who dont drive to the net, we need ben arfa, benzema, villa who want that final shot and score. we missed out last year on torres. we should’ve had him when we gave atletico reyes. we should’ve had a swap with some cash involved, but arsene fucked up and let him go. we should have got players like tevez, bable, torres, ribery, quaresma LAST SEASON. then we would’ve had the finishing we needed this year. SAD TO SAY GUNNERS BUT I SEE ANOTHER 3 CUP-LESS SEASONS COMING UP. manpoo, chelski, and potentially even livercunts will have better and replenished squads. espcially with a few BIG BIG PLAYERS that they will splash cash on to reinforce their teams.

  276. Rishat Muhametshin Says:

If you only have known, what does the word “nasri” mean in Russian…

  277. on d gooner Says:

Wenger has lost the will to fight for AFC. Last week, it was ‘before the euros’ now ‘it is after the euros’. I am not sure he knows himself. If Real Madrid doesn’t get hold of Ronaldo and the Nasri guy has a good euro ’08 then we should be waving goodbye to ever signing him. Thanks Arsene

  278. gooner me Says:

Spurs to Sign Ben Arfa and Nasri in the next 24hrs
    1 06 2008

Spurs are looking to add Arsenal targets Nasri & Ben Arfa within the next 24 hrs, Daniel Levy has cut short his hoilday to clinch the deal from under the very big nose of Arsene Wenger. it was expected that Arsenal has signed Nasri and the player himself said that the deal was 9999999.999.9 % done but spurs have now come in and offered a cash plus Younis Kaboul deal for Nasri. Levy is now on his private jet traveling at the speed of light to join the players agent to seal the paperwork. Wenger who is in Africa looking at the new hot prospect Twingi Adbingini a 7 year old winger who is tipped to be the new Eboue. Wenger said “I hope to complete the signing of this player by 2011, I like him alot but its not easy to pay him what he wants, I need to maybe sell Cesc first for £40m to Madrid to find some money for his wages”

    The Private Jet…..

have you read this?its on an arsenal forum but probably writen by a totthenham fan,i hope its a joke.

  279. Matt Says:

But everyone has said it will be sorted out in the next couple of days… Wenger(previously), Nasri himself and his agent. I still think he will sign. Just cuz hes said that it will happen in July, it doesnt mean he wont sign cuz he will!

and btw, what Arsene said about it being harder to sign ligue 1 players… He was asked if its harder to sign a player from ligue 1… which wenger responded yes.

  280. gooner me Says:

i didnt sayd that i think all thows things are true i am just amused about wath some are dreaming about, and about the interview ,it is more corect to publise also the questions not olny the answers because if the reporter asked him then all is diferent..

  281. SH Says:

Everyone should calm down. Yes it is very disappointing that we have not wrapped up Nasri but there are probably some legal matters to be dealt with regarding the contract which could not be settled hence waiting until the Euros to sort it out. You would think the transfer window is going to close tomorrow judging by the panic here.

  282. Dutchmaster Says:

When Wenger was talking about wages he wasnt reffering to Nasri he was talking about Transfering French players to the Premiership, not spesifically Nasri.

  283. gooner me Says:

did we signed clement chantome?i saw o the youn guns that is official!

  284. SH Says:

Where in Young Guns did you see that? I read somewhere that Clement Chantome is staying at PSG.

  285. duck Says:

Calm down guys, we haven’t signed Nasri but that doesn’t mean we won’t sign him. Nothing says that we won’t sign him.

And is he the last available creative player in this world? I guess not! so, even if we don’t sign him… there will be others available.

    Chill guys.

  286. DeiseGooner Says:

See, this is why transfer dealings should be done behind the scenes and only made public when completed. Look at all the wasted print and web pages reporting this as a done deal. We all knew it wasnt done because arsenal didnt announce it.

It also scares the shit out of fans who want signings yesterday. HA

Holder rather convincing before the Ecuador last Tuesday in Grenoble, Samir Nasri has made an entry into play very interesting with the France team before the Paraguay Saturday in Toulouse. It was thus seen to get involved fully in the game the way a leader should normally be during a season. Even at 20 years.

Since Merano, where he was granted a few days of rest, Arsène Wenger had to appreciate in front of his television. The general manager of Arsenal was already convinced, but the provision of young Marseillais the Stadium has undoubtedly reinforced its final choice: with Nasri, the London club will seek the services of an element that is capable the animation of the game, changing everything about his attackers and able to open the path to the goal. For less than a reversal of last-minute situation is well under the jersey of the Gunners that the international french play next season.

If it has not yet been formalized, an agreement has already been found and the transfer must be finally corrected after the Euro, a traditional medical support. According to our information, this modus operandi has been decided to allow Nasri to devote himself to the team of France without being concerned about his future club. Joint yesterday, Arsène Wenger would not confirm the arrival of the Olympian, consenting only to say that it was “possible.” The triple champion England (1998, 2002, 2004) has also recognized that “Nasri was one of the players who very much interested Arsenal.” It is of interest especially since the French has therefore likely to join the Gunners in a few weeks now.

Without saying so openly, Wenger has also addressed the issue of leader Thursday: “In 21 years (it will be June 26) he whole future ahead of him, and it has a margin progression. It has in any case the qualities needed to assert themselves at the highest level. ” At the Euro to begin … before discovering (most probably) the Premier League, the best championship in Europe.

“Update: I have just been reliably informed that Arsene’s comments about money were in relation to a separate question asked by journalists about how easy it was to buy players in France these days. It had nothing whatsoever to do with Nasri, and the hold up with the deal is not money related. It has more to do with some legal mumbo-jumbo. So there you go.”

Seems we might get him after all=]

  292. duck Says:

I’m just waiting to see how the Spanish press will link him to Real Madrid and Barcelona during EUro 08 when his performance shows in the tournament. Then we’ll all go over silly speculations again until he is finally wearing an Arsenal jersey or presented by Wenger.

Btw, isn’t it odd that Wenger is having a holiday and he’s also being interviewed? Hmm… working holiday?

  293. Ricky Says:

Why are u guys acting supprised for?? wenger always does this when the transfer window opens so im not 1 bit supprised..

look at all the other players he’s missed out on in the past.. the list wouldnt even fit on here & to be honest, who the hell was nasri before we were linked with him anyway?? i know wenger always turns unkowns in to stars but since fabregas about 5 yrs ago there hasnt really been any1 else. maybe we can say adebayor but im sure we’ll all find out sooner or later but this yr im not falling for the ‘i have faith in these group of players’ bollocks he always comes out with.

  294. Ricky Says:

& forgot 2 say i agree with everything mo posted.. lol bring on the trophie-less 08/09 season!! cant bloody wait.

  295. Gooner Chris Says:

    haha, I hope not.

  296. JohnV Says:

Ricky you are one ignorant guy Who had heard of Gael Clichy 5 yrs ago? Or who thought Toure was any good five years ago? Add to that Van Persie who no-one rated and who was having major problems with coaching staff. What about Eduardo although he scored against England everyone said last year he would fail in the prem. What about Sagna? hes been a revelation this season. Bendtner aswell has 4 goals in last 6 international games with 2 assists in his last 2 did anyone know about him before arsenal had him? Wat about Alex song rated as arsenals worst ever player then gets into the ACN team of the tournement. So get your facts right Wenger has helped launch the career of many guys in the last 5 years you pessimistic bastard.

  297. gooner me Says:

do you remember haw we were s close all last summer to sign ribery, and he signed for bayern so in this case probably will be the same if we dont sign him(nasri) before euro, but i strongly hope not to be like that and i think that we if the player says he comes 99% the we are the stupid club in the history of clubs (dont booo me ,i am sayng this in a positive way, because i think it is imposible to be like that).anyway there is a long time since wenger did not made big transfers so i think he will be more generos this year,i mean big from the point of view of price because all we signed was top clas players in the end.can wait to se walcott next season ,he will explode,he is more sure on himself more powerfull so next season will be his season, also i think v persie is very hungry to prove himself .

  298. Gunner Jillu Says:

I am at the moment unhappy with Wenger….. not for the lack of signings but the promise of signings within three weeks and the comment of 200 plus players wanting to sign for us….

  299. gooner me Says:

yes ,that is another think i cant understean,if you have 200 players set to sign then you must be crazy not to sign none ,and after that to say tht at the team is good but next year, now is the time to win something because if these season end like the one ho just endet then i dont think that people will say “in wenger we trust”.

  300. gooner me Says:

well if nasri doesent sigms there are some managers that you shouldnt trust.

  301. goonery Says:

Ronaldinho: He can put fun and swagger into Arsenal (gettyimages.com)
Ronaldinho: He can put fun and swagger into Arsenal (gettyimages.com)

The Brazilian superstar could be just the man to do what Eric Cantona did for Manchester United – and reignite the Gunners’ charge for silverware.
‘Ronaldinho can put the fun, the swagger and the finish to Arsenal’s stylish plays – and add a little Brazilian samba and winning attitude to our almost perfect soccer’

In April 2007, I wrote an article suggesting why Ronaldinho should become an Arsenal player. That article can still be found on Sportingo or Arsenalnfriends. A year down the road, we are being given another opportunity to sign the former World Player of the Year – this time at a cut-price £15million.

Last time round, I quoted the reasons of rubbing shoulders with Thierry Henry, Gilberto Silva and Cesc Fabregas and running circles around John Terry and Rio Ferdinand. Plus the fact that Ronaldinho was unhappy at Barcelona and unhappy with his teammates.

Why would the Brazilian superstar sign for us this time round? Because now he is leaving Barcelona for sure as relationships have soured beyond repair. In addition, Dino needs to jump-start his career, which has come to a standstill at Barca. He needs to be the star to lead a team that is still very hungry for success. He cannot be joining Chelsea or Manchester United – their style does not suit him.

Ronaldinho can be our leading scorer at the forefront to replace Henry, giving extra power to an excellent strike force. With Emmanuel Adebayor, Aleksandr Hleb and Gilberto vowing to stay, Fabregas steering the wheels in midfield and Kolo Toure and William Gallas marshalling the defence, there is great incentive for Dino to pack his bags to join us at the Emirates. Together, there is a definite chance for Arsenal to win something.

On our part, we need a big star to lead us to titles! We are hungry for success after a few barren years. In the way Eric Cantona did for Man United, Ronaldino can be the booster for the Gunners to re-capture our glory. He can put the fun, the swagger and the finish to Arsenal’s stylish plays – and add a little Brazilian samba and winning attitude to our almost perfect soccer. In addition, with Ronaldinho in our team, we can convince more big names to join us and build another dynasty together with the kids maturing at a rapid speed.

What is there to prevent this happening? Arsenal Wenger (or the Arsenal management) need to be convinced to pay the money to grab the Brazilian star and bring back the glory years. Show us the money! Don’t let the chance slip away again or there will never be another chance for Dino (at 28 years old) or for us to bring a World Player of the Year to the Emirates.

    gunnerRashidinho–lmao…nice one!
post no:304…great example of why not to trust the press these days… they chat a whole load of crap. just wait till it comes on the clubs official website…probably take another ten years…but hey, atleast we’ll know its true!
    have patience 😉

  306. gooner me Says:

i wonder why did even goal.com anounnced that ben arfa signed for arsenal amd why ben arfa confirmed that he is talking with arsenal and after that nwenger said that he does not now that ben arfa is for sale ,what the fuck is this ,ho is llieng ?or maybe wenger is playng wits us and he will sign bouth so he can shut our mouths, yes i am sure :)) ,:-P

  307. Daniel Says:

Maybe he is delaying cos he want to present more than 1 player at the press conference?

  308. gooner me Says:

is it true that flamini was sold for 16 mil euros?

  309. gooner me Says:

man u signed ramsey from cardiff city ,and we stiil keep on talking

  310. […] is that Samir Nasri is waiting for Euro 2008 to be over to see if any other clubs come in for him. Wenger has already claimed that the deal will definitely not go through before the tournament. Whether this is true or not, I don’t know, but I really hope not, as clubs like Barcelona, […]

  311. Ricky Says:

I think i have got my facts right when i say toure & clichy were around before fabregas & as good as rvp is he has’nt been cosistent enough could be down to injuries but the real truth is he cant get through a whole season even though i really hope he gets over his injury problems.

eduardo looks good so far but we cant shout about him yet can we? as he may not come back to be the player he was turning in to before he got injured & sagna looks good but only 1 season & i hope he continues the way he’s been playing but u cant judge a player on the 1st season..
so many good players have 1 good year then go downhill so its 2 soon to be talking about ed & sagna & SONG im not even going to start about him.. this is the same player that has the worst touch out of all our squad & so what if he made it to the ANC.. not being direspectfull but its not exactly the best of competition in the world.. so when i say there has’nt been anyone thats come in & set the world a light since fabregas & ade i think im not far from right.

  312. gooner me Says:

315: i dont think so because he already has offerts from ather club like his manager said and he choosed arsenal ,ther is no reason for waithing euro to transfer to biger clubs because he doesent care how much money the club will get so why to wait so his price to grow.dont understean what is the problpem of this transfer but i keen on thinking that not nasri is the cause ,because you dont say you will sign 99% and you dont even talk with the arsenal about the salary ,no?

  313. Ricky Says:

I hear both clubs have agreed on a few around the 12mill mark & will just wait untill after the euro’s to go through personal terms, medical & etc….

  314. gooner me Says:

it doesnt make any sense, what personal terms meens ,when you say 99% yes it meens that is more than that and that you agreed those personal terms and that so why to wait 1 mounth for just a signatue, lests hope that we will find out after he will sign with us and not why he didnt signedanyway i hope eduardo comes back with the same perfomances in game and than the team will win all,we already have great players so dont wary,in our team the chemistry is the key.

  315. Ricky Says:

True mate.. with all the tecnology & other resources they have these days im sure he could have signed & done the med no matter where abouts in the world he is.

  316. chris Says:

    EVERYONE read this….

Nasri puts country first; Won’t sign until after the Euros

i am hoping la provence are correct about this

  317. Ricky Says:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iu4bcKTZ5PY CHECK OUT THIS GUY!! His name is andrei arshavin & plays for zenit st pietersburg. Those that follow the UEFA CUP probably would have heard about him & theres news that he could be comming to arsenal…
If he’s as good as he looks on here then i say we go & get him.

  318. gooner me Says:

    were did you saw that?
arshavim is top class player i saw him not only in uefa but with his nationa team and he is great a litle bit in hleb stile but much better on the scoring ,i heard that he is limked with man city but if will come it will be a great adition.

  319. gooner me Says:

it will be a hard euro for us to look because if nasri will play well then we would be concerned ,if he doesnt play well then we will say that we signed a bad player.

  320. gooner me Says:

concerned that other clubs will grab him

    http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/08/06/03/SOCCER_Arsenal_Nightlead.html&TEAMHD=soccer

This is where i got the info on andrei arshavin & if he’s that good then why not? i know he’s playing in the russian leauge but eduardo was in the crappy croatian leauge & looked good in the prem before he was injured so it could work out…

why should i be jogging anywhere joetodd?? he looks better then a few players in our squad now.. your the only one who should be jogging on.. MUG!!

  323. gooner me Says:

ricky dont you see that on the same list is david vila so thats very less probably, and i think that with arhavin is the same,he has 26 years,ho knows may he is on that list of 200 players but wengher never mencioned about him.anyway class player and definetly better then some of our team.and at zenit he doesnt have the same teammates as it could have at arsenal so his game could improve.

  324. gooner me Says:

i saw on goal.com that villa price is 40 mil euros>

  325. Ricky Says:

I know pal, we are always linked with tom, dick & harry but he does seem a more reasonable target then vila.
especially that wenger probably wouldnt have to break the bank for him & your also right that he’s game could improve with the players he’ll have around him & would strenghen our squad & maybe give us more goals from midfield if he’s plays in that hleb role…

  326. JohnV Says:

we wont sign andrei arshavin as, as far as i know he is a centre midfielder and we dont need anymore of them. Also even if he is a winger with Nasri’s arrival no other winger will be signed.
