According to Marseille daily La Provence, Samir Nasri’s family have ‘denied’ any contact with La Liga side Atletico Madrid and expect the Frenchman to join Arsenal after Euro 2008.
The 20-year-old has been subject of an ongoing transfer battle supposedly between Spaniards Atletico and North London giants Arsenal.
Just weeks ago, Nasri was expected to put pen to paper and sign a 4-year contract with the Gunners. But Arséne Wenger later announced that the Marseille midfielder would sign after the European Championships.
Aaron Ramsey’s recent signing certainly bolsters Arsenal’s squad, and with the expected addition of Nasri, places will be up for grabs in the Gunners’ midfield for next season.
June 14, 2008 at 6:05 pm
I guess u mean denied any contact rather than “Denied that no contact” had taken place 😉 lol good news though as hes a class player and will give us a great option on the wing and will give us international class replacement if Cesc needs a rest or is injured.
June 14, 2008 at 6:06 pm
The whole Nasri thing is getting annoying now.. wish we’d just sign him
June 14, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Yes JohnV, cheers mate, didn’t proof read it before I posted. 😉
June 14, 2008 at 6:13 pm
Im really getting fed up over all this nasri matter.
I really hope he lives up to the hype but somehow doubt he will
June 14, 2008 at 6:14 pm
It looks like he really wants to join us which is excellent news for us gooners. And with france looking increasingly likely to crash out of euro 2008 we look closer to signing him.
June 14, 2008 at 6:15 pm
fuck off RICKY you bean head
June 14, 2008 at 6:18 pm

Goof point, well made!
June 14, 2008 at 7:02 pm
good post chris now hopefully france lose tuesday then nasri signs thursday hopfully
June 14, 2008 at 7:05 pm
It’s impossible to sign Nasri while he’s at the EUROs so let’s not panic too much chaps.
I’m sure it’s a done deal, as Wenger would never publicly announce that we’re close to signing a player and then miss out. He’s too much pride for that – unlike the Man United website when announcing the Ramsey transfer.

June 14, 2008 at 7:08 pm
aye united must feel like idiots all world laughing at them
June 14, 2008 at 7:14 pm
terrible post
June 14, 2008 at 7:21 pm
Cheers mate. 😉
June 14, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Dont see how thats a terrible post. Personally i think its a good one, i find its always a good idea to check your page Gooner Chris and the Youngguns page as there both highly informative and abit more realistic than the main stream news sites e.g. Skysports which claims we are signing/selling about 20 diff players. Keep up the good work 🙂
June 14, 2008 at 7:52 pm
great post mate i’m sure he will sign where do u get your info
June 14, 2008 at 7:56 pm
Cheers Johnv and Nasri.
Just looking around and different sites mate. It helps looking at sites from different countries as well, like i’ve done there.
June 14, 2008 at 7:57 pm
Hey Chris, have you got the link to La Provence article?
June 14, 2008 at 7:59 pm
Yep mate, if you click on where it says ‘La Provence’ in the article it should take you to the site.
If not, click here.
June 14, 2008 at 8:05 pm
Informative as always – well done young man – don’t know where you find the time !
June 14, 2008 at 8:14 pm
what are the chances of him signing in percentage
June 14, 2008 at 8:16 pm
have u seen nasri on youtube he looks really worth buying
June 14, 2008 at 8:16 pm
99% mate 😀
and cheers Chrissie 😉
June 14, 2008 at 8:18 pm
Chris, great post mate. Ignore that cowboy’s comments, doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Always reading your articles.
BTW: The answer to the oldest premiership player at Euros was Van der Sar. 🙂

June 14, 2008 at 8:19 pm
I played as France with Nasri on Pro Evo earlier and to be frank he was a bit lightweight. He got brushed off the ball far too easily and is clearly not ready for the premier league.
Bugger, weve ‘bought’ a wrong’un lads. im gutted
June 14, 2008 at 8:23 pm
On the other hand, he’s magical on Football Manager.
June 14, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Yeh? Oh ok, maybe he will be mediocre for us then, because he’s not up to much on evo, but is good on FM.
June 14, 2008 at 8:25 pm
Ahh Scott, thats how easy it was!!!
And thanks again 😉
June 14, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Bloke with the stupid name,
What are you going on about? How can you judge a player on two computer games?
Have you even seen him play in real life?
You are a disgrace.
June 14, 2008 at 8:30 pm
No I havent seen him play and yes I am judging him on two computer games, but theyre as close to real life as you can get. Go mug yourself off Harry
June 14, 2008 at 8:30 pm
Can’t wait til he finally comes so we can then concentrate on signing other players.
June 14, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Can’t wait to see him in Pre Season games… and really good Article Chris.
June 14, 2008 at 8:35 pm
harry Kunthole
You can’t really slaye someone for having a daft name now can you?
June 14, 2008 at 8:40 pm
Harry, you’ll be reccomending PAC man next and Sonic the Hedgehog on the wing ?
June 14, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Sorry, last post was not to Harry but bloke with loads of names
June 14, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Imagine a forward line of Lara Croft and Mario. That would be deadly.

June 14, 2008 at 8:56 pm
LOL
June 14, 2008 at 9:01 pm
I remember a particularly good pong bat that would do well for us in goal (this was back in the 70s so you may not know what I’m talking about)
June 14, 2008 at 9:15 pm
Wenger’s been clever about this, instead of trying to rush it through he’s probably said to the guy. Listen mate, we’ll talk to you now, get things sorted for your arrival but don’t rush things, you need to prepare for the Euro’s, enjoy it. He don’t wanna cause an upset with the lad, we’ve basically signed him, Marseille have all but announced it. Every1’s fucking clucking like they need their latest transfer fix, we don’t rush things, Wenger loves the Grolsch way regarding the tranfer market, shhhhttoooppp! There’s no need to rush things, Nasri’s told Atletico to fuck off twice already, also, expect Moutinho at the Emirates next season, although it aint been reported, Wenger was at the portugal game watching him, funnily enough sitting next to his agent in the stands. No-one’s said much about that now have they.
June 14, 2008 at 9:22 pm
“””I played as France with Nasri on Pro Evo earlier and to be frank he was a bit lightweight. He got brushed off the ball far too easily and is clearly not ready for the premier league.
Bugger, weve ‘bought’ a wrong’un lads. im gutted”””
By the way, on Pro Evo have you seen how good Bendtner is on that, he’s shit hot, but he’s nowhere near that in real life. and Cesc is shit on that game compared to real life. So no don’t be judging any player on a computer game. I’ve seen Nasri in a few times, twice in real life, and fuck me he’s good. He’s built like a pre-pubetic teenager. But lightweight he aint, you can push him but the ball stays where it was, glued to his feet. Pro Evo, while being a good game, is a load of bollox compared to real life mate.
June 14, 2008 at 9:24 pm
gunner no.1 that is an unfair comment. pro evo is a perfectly valid way of forming an opinion of a player.
June 14, 2008 at 9:27 pm
I resent people insinuating I have a stupid name. The bloke with the long name has a stupid name. Just because my parents called me Harry doesn’t mean my name is stupid. It’s a perfectly common name.
June 14, 2008 at 9:31 pm
In which way unfair eric?
June 14, 2008 at 9:31 pm
How good is Sagna and clichy for instance?
June 14, 2008 at 9:33 pm
sagna and clichy are amazing on evo and they are in real life too. nasri is lightweight, whereas drogba is strong on evo – same in real life. get with the times gunner no1 im sure Arsene and his scouts use pro evo and fm to scout players.
June 14, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Nasri is too young, and he’s also fucking useless if you’re trying to have a wank. I reckon Wenger should pull his finger out and signed someone experienced like Milla Jovovich. What with our recent record on groin injuries, bet Lewin would have stayed as well….
June 14, 2008 at 9:39 pm
Sagna and Clichy aren nowhere near as good on Evo as real life. Okay some players they have got right, but not all of them. And Arsenal’s scouting policy with all of their targets is to watch them about 30 times. And I don’t 30 weeks in a Master League season!!
But good stuff, you’re fighting for what you think is right.
June 14, 2008 at 9:39 pm
Harry Khunthol and eric walter peter frederick conor padraig manuel pedro terence stilton cheesemen are the same people for those who were talking about it earlier.
June 14, 2008 at 9:47 pm
I thought so, there couldnt have bin more than person on this planet with that idea.
June 14, 2008 at 10:02 pm
Gunner no.1;
Do you really think eric Kunthole is being serious when he is comparing players on computer games to how they are in real life???
June 14, 2008 at 10:06 pm
obviously im not being serious, but you took the bait.
June 14, 2008 at 10:07 pm
I can’t believe you actually acknowledged their posts with responses!
Cheers for the update Chris.
June 14, 2008 at 10:10 pm
Harry Khunthol – should have guessed by the silly name – who would have a stupid name like Harry – except the manager of our veteran side on the south coast
June 14, 2008 at 10:12 pm
Whatever name he’s using, he does have a valid point, in that he was fishing for a bite and that’s exactly what he got!!!

June 14, 2008 at 11:57 pm
Scottpuffin
I dont think lara croft and mario would play well together as they are in the same mould.A bit like Drogba and Ade
But Luigi can be the link-up man between mario and the midfield
it would be legendary.
June 15, 2008 at 12:08 am
patiencegoes,
i totally 100% AGREE with your views. the BBC is missing someone of your knowledge on their punditry panel at euro 2008.
