As the new season draws ever near closer, Arsenal’s training regime moves into full throttle as the players prepare for another long, hard and tiresome league campaign.
Today was Members Day, the inaugural event giving thousands of Gooners the opportunity to watch the squad train at the Emirates Stadium.
North London was damp, wet and cold but it didn’t stop the 5,000-strong crowd turning up to view their Arsenal heroes.
New-signings Samir Nasri and Aaron Ramsey appeared along with the Gunners’ senior stars such as Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie and Kolo Toure.
Nasri worryingly disappeared down the tunnel whilst pointing to his leg, the 21-year-old was reported to of sustained a slight knock.
Eduardo took part in some light running with new physio Neal Reynolds and Tomas Rosicky ran several laps of the field along with French fullback Armand Traore.
Theo Walcott, Justin Hoyte, Jack Wilshere, Ramsey, Carlos Vela and Lukasz Fabinaski all joined in training ahead of their inclusion in tomorrow’s pre-season friendly against Huddersfield.

Chris – Do you know if there was any truth in the rumours that Nasri pulled out due to a groin problem?
August 5, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Nice one Chris.
You know what, I always forget we’ve even got Rosicky!! He is absolutely different class, and in my opinion one of our most influential players. Whenever he plays we seem to play well, he just adds something that nobody else has got. And he can score goals.
Let’s hope him and van Persie stay fit.
August 5, 2008 at 8:22 pm
Was Rosicky training? As i thought he was still injured. Looking forward to seeing Rosicky back in the team as hes one of our best players with Cesc and RVP.
August 5, 2008 at 8:23 pm
I heard that Bendtner and Gallas also pulled out, he apparently was pointing at his leg after coming off but I think its only a slight knock; certainly nothing to worry about.
August 5, 2008 at 8:25 pm
Rosicky has his thigh strapped up in the pic above, he only took part in light running.
August 5, 2008 at 8:25 pm
so gallas will be fine for the start of the new season gooner chris???
as i feel he has played quite wiell this pre season.
August 5, 2008 at 8:31 pm
great to see eduardo back. just a little jog to see the fans i assume? or did he touch the ball at all?
August 5, 2008 at 8:35 pm
A couple of laps around the pitch surprisingly, Diaby, Bendtner, Nasri and Gallas only appeared for a few minutes.
August 5, 2008 at 8:37 pm
any 1 know what happened to Merida? he hasn’t featured anytime this pre-season n he’s not included for the team to play Huddersfield 2mora.
Nor is Fabregas. why hasn’t he featured?
August 5, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Merida’s on holiday and Fabregas got an extended holiday because of his Euro2008 win.
August 5, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Anyone fancy us to lift the Amsterdam Cup this weekend?
I can’t wait for Nasri to score his first for the Arsenal!
August 5, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Will Fabregas,Nasri and Gallas play against Ajax on Friday?
August 5, 2008 at 8:49 pm
20,000 something wrong with your minces fella
August 5, 2008 at 8:58 pm
5,000 sound about right?
August 5, 2008 at 9:00 pm
@ Gooner Chris
cheers
August 5, 2008 at 9:00 pm
a lot of people seem to forget rosicky. and RvP is under rated. looking forward to a Rosicky, Diaby, Cesc and Nasri midfield.
August 5, 2008 at 9:09 pm
@ Conner Powell
not looking 4ward 2 seeing Diaby in the line up of Midfield
August 5, 2008 at 9:13 pm
Diaby for me is a wild card – when he’s on form, he’s quite imperious, and can be really dominant in the centre of the pitch. However, when he’s not, he looses the ball constantly and puts in wild lunges, and is a complete liability.
Maybe if he plays more often in the centre with someone like Fabregas, he’ll become more sharp and consistent. When he came on against Juve, he was terrific, but against Real, he was not.
August 5, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Have to agree about Diaby, he’s the last player I want to see in that defensive midfield role. Stick him as far up the pitch as possible so he can cause as little damage as possible. Liability.
August 5, 2008 at 9:42 pm
so wait Nasri,Gallas and Bendtner pulled out of training because of knocks?
i agree about diaby i hope more for denilson hes had an alright preseason and looks like he isnt afraid to shoot which is good as sometimes that is what we lack – the willingness to shoot
August 5, 2008 at 9:44 pm
VERY nice to see Dudu running again.
August 5, 2008 at 9:59 pm
hi i was there today and gallas traore rosicky and i think djourou came out for the applause and then went straight back without kicking a ball or running anywhere, so they all must have slight knocks.
cheers gooner chris good article as always.
August 5, 2008 at 10:01 pm
sorry it was bendtner and diaby also i think.
August 5, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Ah cheers Joel, thanks for the info.
August 5, 2008 at 10:07 pm
yeeeeeeees
rosicky is returned bake
August 5, 2008 at 10:24 pm
AW needs to pull a Patrick Vieria signing out of the bag, if hes
not going to sign a CB, then bring in a powerful , tall , athletic over
25 CM please Arsene.
That with RVP , Roisicky and Dudu staying fit, (big ask) we will win the championship
August 5, 2008 at 10:26 pm

u guys realized? djourou seems to gain few centimeters of height. he almost as tall as adebayor. no wonder wenger said we don’t need to buy another central defender. in addition to that, djourou is as fast as toure. in terms of potential, he can be the best central defender. with a bit of experience and confident, he could be our solutions for the problematic CB position.

Thanks for the photo. I was happy Eduardo return.

August 6, 2008 at 10:53 am
great pics chris…great to see dudu and rosicky back on their feet! And a happy birthday to van persie today
August 6, 2008 at 12:15 pm
Gooner chris can u see a ramsey fabregas partnership. I really like ramsey hes like denilson, but hes more direct denilson likes to pass side ways and back wards. This kid ramsey goes for killer passes and hes quicker than denilson and fabregas. I have heard ramsey being very good at tackling like a bryan robson who was a holding midfielder box to box
August 6, 2008 at 12:24 pm
it’s a gift for all of us to see Dudu and Rosicky come back to train with the team,,
hope those 2 can make a great impact when they’re back…

its good to see eduardo running again cant wait untill he comes back and starts scoring again
August 6, 2008 at 6:04 pm
Eddy should be back by christmas whilst fingers crossed Tommy Gun sells his seat behind the dugout to a supporter and that he does actually make the field of play. During the times he played, he was awesome (I remember his double at Craven Cottage set up by Eduardo). The guy tackles back while giving us much needed width. Will be like a new signing, or two.
August 7, 2008 at 10:12 pm
any news on nasri’s injury? i saw him tell a coach he was going to get treatment whilst pointing at his leg… hope it’s nothing serious! the last thing we need is injuries!!
