Arsenal’s new 2008/09 away kit has been labelled as “tasteless” and “disrespectful” by a minority of Liverpool supporters.
The kit, which is based on the iconic jersey worn when the Club won the League Championship in dramatic style in 1989, has been slated for celebrating the magnificent win at Anfield just days after the anniversary of the infamous Hillsborough tragedy.
Yellow and blue are our away colours – they have been for years with the only exceptions being when the money men at Nike make us change. Its about time Liverpool fans took a step back and looked to focus on remembering this tragedy accordingly (which I am sure they will do) rather than finding somebody else to have a pop at with regards to this event.

Who cares what they think, say or write. They are Scousers. You can’t expect them to behave like normal people.
July 24, 2008 at 3:55 pm
I cant believe that crap that liverpool supporter is spouting on that forum. The things he says are completely unrelated to the hillsborough tragedy. And does Arsene wenger actually choose the kits that are going to be worn next season? that guy is chatting absolute crap.
July 24, 2008 at 3:57 pm
“conducting themselves with class”
Yeah right cos liverpool players coming out and speaking about gareth barry and robbie keane before bids have been accepted is really classy isn’t it. mugs
July 24, 2008 at 3:57 pm
We are celebrating history of our beloved club. Do I really care what Liverpool fans think? I think NOT!!!!
July 24, 2008 at 3:58 pm
As a Liverpool fan I really couldnt give a monkeys what kit any other team wears and I’m sure Arsenal fans dont care what colours Liverpool play in. This is just looking for a story where there isnt one. Its actually quite a nice shirt.
July 24, 2008 at 3:58 pm
Relax, it’s not very important and the original comment was a joke.
Cockney bellwhiff.
July 24, 2008 at 3:58 pm
I’m an LFC supporter and I find that complaint pathetic! Some of my fellow LFC fans just like to complain for the sake of it… its unreal! Arsenal have every right to celebrate their victory acknin 89. I think its fitting because as sad as it feels to say, it was a great moment in football. These things don’t happen often and associating it to the saddest moment in LFC history just to dirty it is very very low.
July 24, 2008 at 4:00 pm
they are just upset they cant sign Barry
July 24, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Its just one fan who feels like that…
July 24, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Sore losers. Just take a look how Rafa has been dealing with Aston Villa for Gareth Barry. Same style as Real Madrid and Barca. Contact player first, unsettle him then offer a low price.
Thats really great ethic huh? Ooh, how about cheating Leeds Utd on the Harry Kewell transfer?
Im having some difficulty posting.. My post is not posted, when i try again, it says “duplicate”
July 24, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Yeah like Wenger designs away kits in his spare time.
Complain to Nike.
July 24, 2008 at 4:00 pm
They DO indeed need to take a long hard look at themselves!
July 24, 2008 at 4:00 pm
As a Liverpool fan of 40+ years who was stood on the Leppings Lane End at Hillsbrough and who was on the Kop when Michael Thomas scored that infamous goal I would urge all Arsenal fans to totally ignore such drivel as quoted above.
I’d urge you instead to remember the way you were received that night after that heart-breaking last minute goal. Where else would a chant of “Champions! Champions!” have been directed to the winners from fans of the losers.
As for the opinion of what Arsenal have been like in the Wenger years … well, yes you’ve had some disciplinary problems but for lots of us you’ve also been a joy to watch and your trips to Anfield have been a highlight of the season.
July 24, 2008 at 4:01 pm
i am not at all offended by this matter-and i’m a LIVERPOOL fan! teams can wear whichever colours they want andPS-arsenal play some fantastic football!
July 24, 2008 at 4:01 pm
Yet those scousers who you label as idiots are currently residing in the European capital of culture AND are the most successful club in the country. Will arsenal finally win a european cup this year? haha i think not
July 24, 2008 at 4:01 pm
the scouse will find anything to cry about…you said it right, they’re mad cuz we won, they lost
this kit will bring the quad to the emirates! wilshire for 1sts!
July 24, 2008 at 4:02 pm
RAWK is shite and not representative of normal Liverpool fans.
Just ignore them.
July 24, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Fack arf you cocknee twat.
July 24, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Lol this is the first I’ve heard of Liverpool fans being bitter over an Arsenal shirt. RAWK tends to be a bit OTT with their feelings anyways. But I dont see what there is to be bitter about, not towards a club that cant keep a hold of their best players and havent won a single thing since 2005……..
July 24, 2008 at 4:03 pm
You know not all Liverpool supporters think like that. All credit to you for winning the league that year, it was a sad year for us though. It really does not matter what colours you wear. So good Luck to you this year and hope between us we can keep playing the game as it should be played.
July 24, 2008 at 4:03 pm
I am a Liverpool fan, and I really think any complaint like this is ridiculous. It hurt like hell when you beat us, but it is a night that is as special for you as Istanbul is to us. It looks good too… There is no way that our real tragedy, that still hurts way more than losing that game, should make you any less proud of what you achieved in 1989. So celebrate it.
July 24, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Love it.
One comment from one site = story.
Haven’t we got better things to talk and write about?
Making us look like chumps mate.
July 24, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Greek Gooner – you are a knob jockey.
July 24, 2008 at 4:03 pm
What I find crass is Nike & Arsenal collaborating on a poor excuse just to release another piece of over-priced merchandise.
I got over Arsenal winning the title in 1989 a long time ago, so there are no sour grapes here.
Just the sour taste our game being taken over by the money men leaves me with.
Still, if Arsenal fans are daft enough to buy it.
July 24, 2008 at 4:04 pm
“Arsenal are a catalogue of appalling behaviour the last 20 years or so.”
Hilsborough! Heysel! Istanbul! yeah, scousers really lead the way when it comes to being bastions of all that is good with football fans.
twats
July 24, 2008 at 4:07 pm
Yeah, thanks for getting all english teams BANNED FROM EUROPE Liverpool “fans”!
July 24, 2008 at 4:08 pm
im a liverpool fan and im more offended at what a fellow fan has said, i think if you want to celebrate your famous win then you can, theres some proper idiot liverpool fans out there and it makes me cringe when i see them writing rubbish like that!!! its a decent shirt to be honest!
July 24, 2008 at 4:09 pm
correct me if im wrong, but didnt we have the best disciplinary record last season? lol.
July 24, 2008 at 4:11 pm
“a Scouser is worth any good, only when he is Dead
Let’s hope the Glory days with planes full of Mancs crashing to the ground and piles of dead Scouse on football fields are back really soon
and they’ll Never Get a Job!They’ll NEEEEEEEEEEver get a job…”
What an odious little turd you are – i’d be embarrassed to have you as a fan of my club.
As a Liverpool supporter, i can assure you we will be more concerned with respecting the Families, rather than worrying what Nike shirt Arsenal are wearing.
July 24, 2008 at 4:11 pm
arsenal are rubbish as we taught them in the champions league u will never win the champions leaue you got no history your best players have left u helb flammini cause there know they cant win nothing at arsenal u anite won nothing for 4 years wat a brillant club .ahahahahahhahhahahaahahahhahhaahahhaaah
July 24, 2008 at 4:11 pm
“The only reason people are complaining is because we beat them to the league that year.”
“Its about time Liverpool fans took a step back and looked to focus on remembering this tragedy accordingly.(which I am sure they will do)”
As Reds fan I don’t see the shirt being disrespectful as it is just celebrating the league title win that year…..BUT you honestly think you winning the league means more to us than Hilsborough? Your lack of football knowledge outside of your own club and comments seems to me like scraping the bottom barrels and insulting to an event you quite clearly do not understand.
July 24, 2008 at 4:12 pm
4 years 1 fa cup, a joke to say the least. BABEL!!!!
July 24, 2008 at 4:14 pm
As a Liverpool supporter I have no reason to comment on what kit other clubs play in I’m not happy that the money men have forced us to wear blue for the Euro away games, but it angers me when Mr Greek Gooner starts submitting such awful sentiments I just hope that this sites moderators take some action. And I hope true football supporters will also condem his comments.
July 24, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Shouldn’t the title read “Liverpool fan gets bitter”. Hopefully the kit will inspire you boys to win something again rather than just passing the ball nicely!
July 24, 2008 at 4:14 pm
I think you should have whatever kit you like..
If it reminds you of the days when you used to win trophies, so be it!!
Most of your fans won’t remember the kit as they were probably supporting someone else before then!
Cesc – follow hleb to a team that has a chance of winning something this year!!
July 24, 2008 at 4:15 pm
It’s a shirt and nothing more. I’m a Liverpool fan and anyone who finds this shirt disrespectful isn’t a football fan and should get a life. It’s pathetic that anyone would find it offensive. Then again it’s going to be a reminder of the night we threw the league away…
July 24, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Is there no censorship on this site? Greek Gooner’s comments are down right offensive and should be removed
July 24, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Greek Gooner you are a prick!
Go fuck your mum, spastic!!
July 24, 2008 at 4:16 pm
all i can say is if liverpool keep living in the past no wonder they can’t move on and win anything that means anything
July 24, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Ya I’m a Liverpool fan and as far as i’m concerned – Arsenal are entitled to wear whatever shirt they like (as long as it doesn’t have a nazi symbol or something)
As hard as it is to think about it, 1989 in Anfield was one of the most dramatic moments in the history of the game and if the shoe was on the other foot we would speak about it constantly.
the Jibes about Heysel are a bit pathetic though. How are Arsenal fans feeling about the current season with Flamini and Hleb gone?
July 24, 2008 at 4:17 pm
I find it impossible to understand how a “supporter” of one of Englands genuinely great clubs can be allowed to use this site to vent such moronic thoughts as Greek Gooner has.
July 24, 2008 at 4:18 pm
40. david truss – July 24, 2008
all i can say is if liverpool keep living in the past no wonder they can’t move on and win anything that means anything
Who living in the past????
Its you making a shirt celebrating a league win in 19 fuckin 89!!!
July 24, 2008 at 4:18 pm
historypool.. need I say more
July 24, 2008 at 4:19 pm
we are listening to a scouser, i know the hillsbrough disaster was hard 4 everyone but there is no reason to take it out on the best ever teams away kit
July 24, 2008 at 4:19 pm
Greek Gooner.. Is it time for your pills?
July 24, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Some very gullible Gooners on here if they rise to this bait.
Heres the truth: Liverpool fans couldnt give a flying fuck what you lot wear. Its entirely up to you.
And as for the guy who wants loads of mancs and scousers dead, well god help you when he’s in your midst
July 24, 2008 at 4:21 pm
people hu say were the degrace coz we stated about transfers u lot blame ur title miss this season becoz a player broke his leg (a player that ur better off without) and he cant get no decent player satisfiy how many times has torres stated to leave adabyawokjfah or wut ever his dodgy name is hleb flamini wenger has to spend loads of cash on youth players where liverpool pay compensation…and what more it is a utter desgrace the only memories of the hillsbourgh or heysel that shood be rememberd is of ALL of the lives -not the shirt of a lucky goal
July 24, 2008 at 4:22 pm
Greek Gooner – we’ll talk football when you’ve won a Europen Cup, you f*ckin inbred.
As for us being jealous of you going to the San Siro – check your history you mong. We’ve won the f*ckin lot, and had more memorable nights following our team than you’ve had dodgy kebabs.
July 24, 2008 at 4:22 pm
Red and white kop is a fans forum. So it doesnt speak for the whole club or the hillsborough families. As a liverpool fan i find the complaint a bit over the top. What i don’t like is the comment from eddie mcginty. You sir, are a cretin!
July 24, 2008 at 4:24 pm
As a ‘Pool fan, i quite like the skip…..’Pool fans in general wont mind it..
July 24, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Are there any arsenal fans even bothering to read this??
July 24, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Greek Gunner you fucking knobhead!!!!!!!!!
people like you need to get a life, you tit.
July 24, 2008 at 4:27 pm
What i thinks funny is it starts saying wenger has no dignity, like he has any real say on the design of the arsenal jerseys!!
July 24, 2008 at 4:27 pm
“Wenger has no dignity whatsoever and his players disciplinary record is an utter disgrace. ”
Didn’t we come 1st in fair play last season? Vieira used to have a temper but I’m pretty certain he sorted this out… and then left!
I like the kit, it looks cool. I was only 1 when we won the league in ‘89 so it doesn’t have any real signifance in that way (that said when I see repeats of the Thomas goal, the hairs still stand up on the back of my neck, guess I was born a natural gooner.) But if I wanted to celebrate that season, I’d just go on one of the many, many sites selling replica ye olde’ kits or vintage copies. If I want to celebrate my current team, I’ll buy the kit.
July 24, 2008 at 4:28 pm
jedi hass’t realised that anyone can win the european cup it seems.
How many premier league trophy’s have you won………..sorry i didn’t here that…….how many?
July 24, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Liverpool fan here – Lets not think that many Liverpool fans care what colour your away kit is. Good luck to you whatever kit you have on.
Just trying to get people to log onto the site by any chance?
July 24, 2008 at 4:29 pm
David, we have won the League 18 times…..Or is it a different thing now its the Premier League?
If anyone can win the Euro Cup then explain how you and Chelsea have not?
July 24, 2008 at 4:29 pm
57. david truss – July 24, 2008
“jedi hass’t realised that anyone can win the european cup it seems”
Anybody but you.
July 24, 2008 at 4:30 pm
HAHA! Quality that Greek Goon. A Liverpool fan jealous of YOU?
Don’t make me laugh, I’ve seen more glory than you’ve smashed
plates lad. BTW I haven’t got a sister and I would’nt fuck yours coz
she’s far to hairy for my tastes. And most importantly -
WE ARE NOT ENGLISH (OR BRITISH) WE ARE SCOUSE.
ps: No teams in Greece to support?
July 24, 2008 at 4:30 pm
this is the most fun i’ve had in ages.. oh dear, is that a sad reflection on my life?? Or is Greek Gunner so stupid that watching him get caned by everyone and their cat makes for fun reading!!?
July 24, 2008 at 4:31 pm
“david truss – July 24, 2008
jedi hass’t realised that anyone can win the european cup it seems.”
Except your lot, it seems.
July 24, 2008 at 4:32 pm
As for living in the past as well David, when was the last time Arsenal won anything?
Silly arguments really as I have a lot of time for your fans and the way you play. Shame that people like you try to sour the views on your team
July 24, 2008 at 4:42 pm
“They simply hate us just because they are jealous of our team, our history, our class”
History? Class?
Is class mocking the dead, celebrating at the losses of others? No.
History?
Fucking behave yourself, Arsenal had the worst away day following until all the fucking foreign nob heads like yourself came to football after Euro 96. Arsenal are Reading with success- Shite fans, no class.
July 24, 2008 at 4:44 pm
who cares what you think mate?a football kit has no relation to a tragedy in any respect.
July 24, 2008 at 4:44 pm
Greek Gooner does mummy know what you’re doing? I suggest you drink your cocoa, wash your mouth out and go to bed like a good little boy Maybe the grown ups will let you join in discussion when you have learned some respect.
July 24, 2008 at 4:44 pm
Can we get back to the topic?
July 24, 2008 at 4:45 pm
Exactly Duck, the topic was the away shirt and how the hell it actually relates to the Hillsborough tragedy.
July 24, 2008 at 4:45 pm
Seriously….it would be damn stupid for them if they really have such thought.
July 24, 2008 at 4:50 pm
shut all the shits man..liverpool’s fans, stop complaining…arsenal’s fans stop moaning..let’s wait until the season start..
July 24, 2008 at 4:52 pm
You scouse tossers…I was there the night we won the league at ‘fortress’ Anfield…Arsenal no class? we gave you 40 grand to the fund and all our players entered the pitch with boquets which they handed to Liverpool fans around the stands….by the way I bet the the flowers didn’t have as many pricks in them as there are in Liverpool
July 24, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Like most Liverpool fans here has pointed out, its a personal opinion and does not represent the entire Liverpool Fans. Anyway, on a personal note, i don’t quite like Nike’s design for this season and I mean all of the kits (home and away)
July 24, 2008 at 4:57 pm
will the last scouser blow out yet another candle on the way out please.
Regards,
Boris
July 24, 2008 at 4:59 pm
scousers dont qualify for the right for free speech because there not exactly humans are they?
July 24, 2008 at 5:07 pm
“scousers dont qualify for the right for free speech because there not exactly humans are they?”
Fucking great argument mate- You probably live in fucking dubai anyways so I’m not bothered.
Enjoy the one game you get to this country for.
July 24, 2008 at 5:09 pm
Hey Greek gooner im a lfc fan n ive gtta apologise on behalf of tht fan if ull feel offended…..tht one fan doesnt account for all our views though….n please stop insultin LFC for no reason the threads on the kit okay the comment ws wrng….bt gt on with it n gt a life…….ur creating bad blood for no reason!
July 24, 2008 at 5:21 pm
The scousers complaining are in a very miniscule minority Im sure, as some of the real scousers comments on here will testify, its just due to the nature of the internet, that all have a voice, even the most petty bitter twats amongh us.
Who wouldnt wanna celebrate that amazing victory against all the odds?
July 24, 2008 at 5:23 pm
I’ve reported Greek Gooner and his comments are now deleted, my apologies to all the Liverpool fans insulted by him. He was a sick person who deserved to be in the Hillsborough disaster if he thoguht it was that funny. As for the new shirt I’m sure nothing was meant in it to insult Liverpool, the intention is merely to provide inspiration for Arsenal. It is a sad day for Liverpool but also a glorious day for Arsenal, and it is merely a remembering of that day.
July 24, 2008 at 5:30 pm
the day i’m refering to is winning at anfield in 89, not the Hillsborough disaster obviously
July 24, 2008 at 5:31 pm
okay, lets get one thing danm straight here. what one ranting fan says does not reflect liverpool fans views. on liverpoolfc.tv, this unveiling passed by without a soul noticing. or caring. so to tar all liverpool fans with the same ‘bitter’ accusation is extremely poor writing and blinkered on the writers part. liverpool fans as a rule have almost completely erased the sun from liverpool, because that is who their quarrel is after their smear campaign post-hillsborough. far as i can remember, i dont recall arsenals away kit being treated in the same way, nor will it ever be. talk about making a mountain out of a molehill
July 24, 2008 at 5:33 pm
“He was a sick person who deserved to be in the Hillsborough disaster if he thoguht it was that funny.”
You are also sick if wishing that upon anyone- You clearly don’t understand what happened that day.
July 24, 2008 at 5:35 pm
i dont know why liverpool fans would be so bitter,. it’s to remember such a DRAMATIC win FOR US. That’s it, nothing abt the Hilsborough disaster, NIKE, (not arsene) are not that stupid as to lauch the kit to remember that heart wrenching disaster on the same year.
1989 last minute win was much more special than the invincible years, the way we won it. nothing more, nothing personal. We’re just remembering the positive side of winning the league. why think too much into it..
and Greek gunner, you are giving us gunners a BAD name!
July 24, 2008 at 5:35 pm
who cares about yer new kit. Not arsed meself, and I was ther 20 years ago.
RAWK is a site full of soccer am watching, jester hat wearing nob ends. Anyone who thinks they (RAWK) are the voice of typical match going reds is deluded.
Anyone getting wound up about this from either side is a bad bad bell end
July 24, 2008 at 5:53 pm
I’ve always had a lot of respect for Liverpool FC and think they are so similar to The Arsenal in many ways historically and culturally. Some of the comments from the Scousers on here only go to reinforce that feeling.
I was at Anfield in 89 and the Liverpool supporters were brilliant. I’ve been mugged on the way to Anfield too and chased through Stanley Park but it’s not gonna cloud my judgement of what is, like ours, a great club. There’s no story here..just some bitter idiot whos views count for nothing.
I look forward to Anfield every year. I despise going to Tottenham and to a certain extent OT aswell. Spurs and Utd are both classless. Arsenal emanate class throughout, and Liverpool aren’t far behind.
July 24, 2008 at 5:58 pm
Why drag both clubs down when their is a healthly relationship between both sets of supporters. As a Liverpool fan, Arsenal’s away jersey doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Just like we commemorate our past triumphs, Arsenal are expressing theirs. What is the big deal, someone creating an argument out of nothing. Arsenal fans and Liverpool fans ever since that night showed true class sportsmanship. So close after Hillsborough also. As for the fan spouting that off on(RAWK), he is probably on school holidays. Everyone and including some fans i know think the sun shines out of their arses that is all the know all of all things Liverpool. The only sites that are reflective of fans are TIA and YNWA.tv at this stage.
July 24, 2008 at 5:59 pm
If Liverpool fans aren’t ‘arsed’ with the kit or the article why do we need to hear your opinion??
July 24, 2008 at 6:01 pm
I’m sure the majority of proper, sensible Liverpool fans do not care in the slightest.
I doubt Liverpool fans would have any grievance with the kit coinciding with the year of Hillsborough, which Arsenal had nothing to do with, and treated at the time with the utmost dignity and solemnity, as far as I know.
July 24, 2008 at 6:05 pm
RAWK is full of beauts.
I cant wait to see all the arsenal lads in the ‘red section’ with their replica tops on and names on the back. Would look so ACE.
WICKED WICKED BRAP BRAP.
bunch of homs
July 24, 2008 at 6:16 pm
LFC fans are outraged ?
Honestly YOU GUNNERS FANS SHOULD be for letting the guy take the view of one person on a forum to embody the feeling of an entire family of supporters, and have that perspective be the basis for an article like this…
Well, we obviously aren’t because we accept Michael Thomas, whatever happened on that day – [I still remember that exact moment and the ensuing feeling] – i’d still shake his hand, and be proud too.
In any case, as much as you lot like to think it, LFC fans arent holding grudges they have alot more class than that. I think our problem is we attack when provoked and it doesnt help our reputation….
YNWA
[we'll do you in the league this year boys, no doubt about it]
July 24, 2008 at 6:19 pm
Well to be honest wer’re sort of doing a similar thing here because it represents the views of one (stupid) fan.
Obviously the guy’s a hypocrite by talking about class but we can’t talk about other Liverpool fans like that cos they can’t exactly control their club’ actions (unless they think their club’s acting in class).
Basically this guy’s stupid but only one fan.
July 24, 2008 at 6:54 pm
Liverpool’s ‘disappointing season last year’. Sorry but how many trophies did Arsenal pick up last year, or the last 4 years come to mention it?! Liverpool have in that equivelent time been in 2 champions league finals (and won one) and a champs league semi-final (which we reached by destroying your lot in the quarters), have won an fa cup, played a carling cup final and had two third place finishes above yourselves. No wonder all your players want to leave is there really, jumping like rats from a sinking ship. Oh and by the way I personally couldn’t give a toss what kit you want to wear next season, and I’m positive most other Liverpool fans don’t care either.
July 24, 2008 at 6:54 pm
I see ur point ‘Fabregas’ Dad’ – thing is – this site, to an extent, represents Arsenal FC because it seems to be spreading its word through NewsNow …..
Anyway, more to the point I read many replies and didn’t seem to find the needle in the haystack – an arsenal fan disputing the validity of the authors claims and reassuring LFC fans this wasn’t their view.
I did gauge many responses to be along the lines of ‘bloody scousers this, bitter that, not normal people etc.’
I did however see many LFC Fans responses stating they didnt feel the need to be ‘bitter’. It kind of shows something about the quality of Anfield talent when you mention Michael Thomas’s name in the capacity of that victory.
What was the author of this post doing in an LFC forum in any case?
*N.B – Its a shame we beat you in the CL this year – you were the 2nd best team in the competition and would have gone onto win it…
July 24, 2008 at 6:59 pm
whoever wrote this just be quiet nobody gets insulted by the colour of tops
arsenal wore yellow in 2004 aswell who cares
we are wearing a grey like the top back then too now
July 24, 2008 at 6:59 pm
I was reporting on a link given to me by a Scouse mate of mine, and of course, 9/10 Liverpool fans couldn’t give a monkey’s about our new kit, but I reported on how there are just a few fans who take offence to it.
July 24, 2008 at 7:20 pm
gd article
July 24, 2008 at 7:26 pm
It’s a shirt of rememberance. To remember, not to shove down people’s throats, it’s a means of inspiration. That’s what people want to do with Hillsborough, REMEMBER. The one fan who said that is a muppet. The ones who been winding up going to the success of each club are muppets. They are both mammoth huge clubs and are well withing their rights to remember what they have achieved. We (Liverpool) are not the only team who is stooped in history.
Let’s not forget Liverpool’s kit also based on their past league success.
However if you are going to take a really bad comment and staple it with Liverpool, maybe we should band Arsenal fans as a bunch of “Greek Gooner’s”
Generalisation is bad ok!
July 24, 2008 at 7:40 pm
This is coming from the same club that ensured that Arsenal could not play for the European Cup in 1989 and 1991? What a F*CKING LIBERTY!!!!!
July 24, 2008 at 7:48 pm
We don’t care what kit you wear. Good luck to you. Arsenal and Arsenal’s kit haven’t got a place on our list of things to worry about.
July 24, 2008 at 7:48 pm
strange
July 24, 2008 at 7:50 pm
We’re not bitter about Arsenal in any way.

Hang on a minute, i was at that game in 89, and i seem to recall all the Arsenal players handing out bouquets of flowers to the anfield faithfull as a mark of respect, also a few of my mates travelled to anfield a few days before that game and laid reiths on the Liverpool pitch, so disrespect is something we cant be labelled of.
BTW the majority of the Liverpool crowd claped us off the pitch that night in recognition of our achievment, so will the true Kopites please stand up, the rest of you fuck right off !

July 24, 2008 at 8:24 pm
we don’t care what no one thinks of our kits…..jus hope the way we win in 89 we can do again from this season
July 24, 2008 at 8:38 pm
hey i have been supportin livepool from day 1….
but i didnt realise there was such hate from arsenal fans towards liverpool…
As far as im concerned gunners should wear what they pls…. as stated by other lfc fans is has no relation to what happened that yr other then then pipping us to the championship!
As a football fan i think arsenal play some gr8 football….. but there are some gunner fans on here who seem to be a touch bitter about something other then design of a kit… specially as no lfc fan has backed the complain i cant see the problem…..
other then the fact we achieved alot more then most teams ever could…..
good luck this season…..
your gunner need it

theres not hatred by arsenal fans towards lfc, I just think some people have taken this article too seriously and interpreted it as an attack on arsenal by liverpool, and are thus retaliating, which it obviously is not

Five years out of Europe because of Heysel!!

If you can’t stick to the topic guys I’ll close the comments.

Nothing else to talk about this summer due to the lack of transfer activity that supporters are moaning about kits, what next, who has the best mascots!
July 24, 2008 at 9:29 pm
Please can someone tell me why Wenger is not signing a player!
July 24, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Lost all interest, even the papers have given up! Now that Giberto and Hleb have left, what do they talk about? Arsenal! Lets move on media, they have left, next story!
July 24, 2008 at 9:34 pm
haha, Ade secretly tells team-mate “I don’t think I’m leaving”, somehow it gets leaked to the sun, strange eh.!? :s
July 24, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Its a farce, the whole transfer window, I am so glad the transfer window closes, it really is a circus. The agents are the clowns, the players are the jokers, the managers and the media are the ring leaders.
July 24, 2008 at 9:41 pm
I am sure Wenger knows who he wants, I just think that because of the lack of movement nobody is budging on their price. It may come down to he last week of August to settle things
July 24, 2008 at 9:44 pm
Ade cannot be forgiven for his attitude, I hope he has a stinker of a season and ends up a Jeffers
July 24, 2008 at 9:47 pm
Iam a liverpool fan and reading all the comments says it all “dont believe the hype ” a football shirt is a piece of material thats all !
doesnt matter what colour you wear ,if the team that wears it wins the league in a game that brought it down to the last game and wins will get a good response from a koppite no matter what !
DONT BELIVEVE THE MEDIA lets enjoy the game and the sport we call the beautiful game .ROLL ON SEASON 2008/2009

what is going on with liverpool.Nobody seems to have mentioned the top quality players lfc have bought so far this summer.[joke]They have sold Riise,4 mill,Carson 3.25 mill ,Crouch 11 mill, and have bought the usual load of tossers. Why cant Rafa Houllier use some of that money and buy someone decent like Keane ,Arshavin etc.Where exactly is the money going?Lfc are already playing for 3rd ,only because Arsenal are in a bigger mess than Lfc.Why doesnt Rafa Houllier stop pissing about with no mark players and just buy 1 or 2 top quality players.

Hey What did that greek gunner say? It must of been bad. I can’t wait til we play Liverpool in Anfield next season and Fabregas scores in that Jersey. I just can’t wait til the season starts.

FAO: If any Liverpool fan or berieved relatives are genuinely upset then we genuinely re-offer our condolences again. However lowlife trouble makers whom endevour to shadow our sport with shabbyness and mischief will enevitably fail.
“Good old Arsenal!”
July 24, 2008 at 10:21 pm
Seriously I couldn’t give a shit what you wear I can’t blame you for having a shirt that celebrates that season for you, it’s a money business nowadays. I’d just like to correct a few inaccuracies
1.We didn’t fuck Leeds over Harry Kewell, the fee was 5 million, we paid 5 million it’s not our fault that Leeds fucked up with the agent. In this situation who would you blame if you were Leeds the agent (showing the club’s faults) or Liverpool. I think that’s a no-brainer.
2. In regard to Robbie Keane it was talksport who broke the story in a scoop “Crouch and Keane in swap deal” whoops wrong again, it then hit a Spurs fans website and then 3 days later Chris Bascombe declared it as exclusive, much like the “Van Der Vaart” story which was a pile of shite. Liverpool have nothing to answer for in this matter. And don’t start quoting players saying he’d be great the story was out.
3. The Barry saga has been unsightly but the story being leaked to the Echo is O’Neill’s beef, CRYING LITTLE SHITE. You do it in the Standard, Man U do it in the Manchester Evening News and Aston Villa do it in the Birmingham press. The Barry saga is down to the fact that O’Neill thinks we’ll take his shit and pay what he wants. He rates Barry at 18 million which is beyond a joke in my opinion, we have offered 4 differing options and O’Neill has refused to budge. He now views Finnan at one million!! Is he taking the piss or what? If Barry is worth 18 million then Finnan is worth 3-4 million. Who leaked the story you were interested? Can you boys really see Arsene Wenger pay over 10 million for a 28 year old now? I can’t. Anyway good luck for next season.

This is really disapointing some horrible, aggressive and personal insults on here.
Kit yes of course you guys should celebrate it was an amazing victory and as an LFC fan can’t believe someone has made the initial complaint.
However to talk about dying LFC fans and Man U fans for that matter is an horrific thing to say, surely you must all agree with that.
Plus i think totally out of order to blame LFC fans for getting English teams banned, it was Mrs Thatcher who should have stuck up for the country. Itallian, Turkish fans have terrible scenes at their grounds however nothing ever seems to be done about it.
You know I have always loved Arsenal and everything they stand for, and yet now it seems that actually they are not sporting gentlemen and obviously the fans don’t conduct themselves as well as the Management and playing staff.
One note Re Garry Barry, it wasn’t LFC who released the orrigional story actually it was a Villa journo, sorry just had to put you right on that one. If anyone is behacving badly re Barry it is the childish M O’Neil

Who gives a fuck about liverpool, it’s our fucking kit not theirs.
They should fuck off back to their trampy city and leave their stupid thoughts to themselves.
