Nasri kept as secret weapon? or he still needs a holiday?
July 16, 2008 at 3:29 pm
All three (Hleb unlikely) are back in training in a week’s time.
July 16, 2008 at 3:35 pm
Talking of Hleb, if any move is completed tonight, an article will be up straight after.

does anyone know if ade will be going to the tour of austria as he’s been left out of this squad and his future is still up in the air?
July 16, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Yep he will be going as will Samir Nasri. The reason they weren’t included in Saturday’s squad is because of their extended holiday’s (which I stated above).
July 16, 2008 at 4:16 pm
cheers! should have looked a bit more!
July 16, 2008 at 4:16 pm
All… What is Ramsey’s game like? DF Mid? Box 2 Box?
Gonner Chris – Good to see you supporting Traore for LW. Ive spoken to a lot of “net gooners” who clearly haven’t seen the reserves in a while…
I’m looking forward to seeeing young Wilshere in the CC. Has he signed Pro papers yet???
July 16, 2008 at 4:18 pm
do you think this will be make or break for jay simpson as well?
July 16, 2008 at 4:21 pm
No worries sebcesc.
C-Legable, yep, Traore doesn’t appear to have the defensive qualities of a left back hence the reason Wenger is likely to put him on the left wing.
And Jack Wilshere signed a professional deal a couple of months ago – click here.
July 16, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Definitely, he has to shine in the next few friendlies or Le Boss will loan him out or even sell him. I highly doubt that Jay will make it at Arsenal though, he’d do fantastic for a Championship-based side.
July 16, 2008 at 4:34 pm
And legable it would be nice to see a starting XI like that. Especially considering we would then be able to field 12 players. lol.
Loads of people are still on their jollies so they’re not back to be eligible yet.
Wilshere does lok pretty good however i’ve only seen him play against other kids so perhaps we won’t see his full skills until the Emirates & Amsterdam tournament.
And a big HA HA to fuckwit Adebayor for having burnt his bridges and now having to crawl back to the squad now nobody else wants him. I call it the Drogba effect!
July 16, 2008 at 4:34 pm
where’s Diaby?
July 16, 2008 at 4:42 pm
It’ll be great to see Ramsey. Hopefully he’ll get a good run in pre season and stake a claim for the first team in regards to wether he’s get a spot on the bench. I hear there’ll be 7 spots on the bench for the coming season. Also is it likely Wenger will bring in a new Defensive Midfielder or will he stick with what he’s got and bring in a Defender? After Gilberto left. Cause Toure, Song and Djourou can play further up the pitch so maybe Zapata could play at the back with Gallas.
Just a thought.

Man , I am Laughting My Butt’s Out On ade , what a Muppet …. Bloody Hate him, I will be Booing him every single Game , what agrrr fucking Idiot …. God i cann’t stand the sight Of him at The Gunners , sell him to League 2 or maybe 3…. agrrv what a Jerk …

Gee did i say Out , Bugger Meant Off …Guess I Got abit Carried away aye ..lol apologies
July 16, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Seems a bit unfair on Vela that he has to play when he had to play for Mexico while Adebayor didn’t play as much as him in internationals but Adebayor’s not in the squad.
Didn’t they return to training on the same day?
July 16, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Nah, Ade will be too valuable to be sent to the bench or reserve. Let alone sold to League 2 or 3 who can’t even pay his salary for retirement.
If he stays, my guess is he’ll get to play as much as possible if we don’t buy another striker despite him staying (unlikely). Because we need him to score goals and sell him next season for probably 30 mil pounds again. Cos by then he’ll be asking for 140k/week in which i guess Arsenal will only pay him 70-80k instead should he prove himself.
My 2 cents is that we flock him even if its 20 mil pounds. NOW.
July 16, 2008 at 4:54 pm
I wish i could go:( I just live up the hill to where Underhill is located, about a minute walk… damn my scouse supporting dad.
July 16, 2008 at 4:55 pm
Vela will need more time with the team to assimilate with the rest. Adebayor doesn’t and Wenger and himself has probably considered him as a ’sold’ player perhaps until Milan and Barca has agreed to sign Ronnie instead.
July 16, 2008 at 5:03 pm
Duck I KNow mate , But To be Honest I Just wanna this Idiot Comes to His senses Thats all , we Made him what he is Now and look what he is Doing , No one is Bigger than The club , Good thing im not the Coach aye ..lol

my goodness, 34! hehe.. no offense to the player, but it really isn’t something Arsene would do given the fact that he’s a striker.

correction. we’ve got too many quality youngsters!!!
July 16, 2008 at 7:09 pm
Gooner Chris, I thought Jack Wilshere is not 17 until Jan 2009 and according to that story you linked to, he will not sign a professional contract until then?
Tristan, booing Ade might make you feel better, but it will not help team morale and surely we want what is best for the team? Doesn’t matter how you feel about a player, you should refrain from booing when they are wearing the shirt, for the greater good.

Wilshere signed a long term scholarship deal this summer. The contract turns professional on his 17th Birthday.
July 17, 2008 at 4:53 am
Many of our first team involve except those played at EURO. That is good thing if not many players play in international team. Less injury, more rest for player and they can come back for training early.
July 17, 2008 at 11:57 am
As far as I am concerned, we have lost 3 quality first team players and we have just bought one (Nasri), we might still loose another (Ade). This does not look to me like we have any serious ambition this season (apart from making profit off selling players). The reasons we could not maintain our form last season was that we do not have strength in depth and inexperience. With the look of things, that might not change this season unless we get quality players into the team.
July 17, 2008 at 5:27 pm
nyone seen The Iceman tribute on You Tube posted by Gunnery? Awesome stuff. I’m afraid when I look at our team back then… Henry, Vieira, Pires, Campbell, Seaman and, of course, the Non Flying Dutchman legend, we had a group of world class players who could handle anything another team threw at us. What have we got now? Players at their prime wanting to leave and those that have left we say weren’t up to it, one season wonders or past it… and those were our 1st 11 players!!! We have replaced them with kids. I means barely kids… Aaron Ramsey? He’s only played a dozen games for Cardiff. When we say things like we can’t or won’t buy Barry or Ashavin, it says it all doesn’t it… it seems the days of winning the PL are all but over…

Anyone know if this’ll be shown on Sopcast/TVAnts or similar?
