Carlos Vela has taunted Spurs new boy Giovani Dos Santos by revealing that he “hope he can move on to a better team”.
The quotes from Vela come as Gio’s former Barca team mate Samuel Eto’o rejected claims that he’s on his way to North London by calling them “a mid-table team”.
Giovani has all but agreed a deal to join Spurs this summer while close pal Vela has already made his Arsenal move permanent.
Mexican Dos Santos is a national colleague of Vela and the Arsenal starlet feels his fellow Mexican has already trained his sights on a ’step up the ladder’.
“I am happy for him,” Vela said. “I hope things go well for him at Tottenham, that he gets the minutes he wasn’t given at Barcelona and that he shows what he can do.
“He is a very good player and let’s hope he can then move on to a better team.”
I think we’re on the up, more than on the up. I feel we’ve set our sights on a trophy and already have one hand on it. A bit early to say so? I don’t think so. We’ll be as strong as ever for next season and with players like Vela committed to the club, the improvements will be there for all to see.

Arsenal signed Carlos Vela from Mexican side Guadalajara aged just 16 after he starred in the Under 17s World Cup in Peru in 2005.
He was then a poacher, who came alive in the box, great in the air with a knack of finding the space, due to visa issues, he was loaned, firstly to Celta Vigo in January 2006 but didnt make an appearance, Vela was due to spend last term with Celta, but after they registered too many foreign players, Carlos was told he would have to leave, a furious Arsenal cancelled there partnership and loaned him to another link club Salamanca.
He bagged 8 goals plus loads of assists and becoming a huge fans favourite, but Arsenal decided to give him some experience at a higher level, and a deal was announced that he would spend the 2007-2008 season on loan at Osasuna, where he would get his visa and be able to return to Arsenal ready for the 08-09 season.
Osasuna have been using Vela as a left striker in a 4-3-3, full of pace, power and tricks, he looks a complete different player from the lightweight youngster we signed in 2005.

Let’s hope for more than one trophy next season. It’s been a while since last time, and it would be sooo SWEET to watch the team lift the PL trophy again!
But, of course, winning the CL, FA-cup and CC would be nice too. ^_^

haha all spurs fans dare say they are a top team, because to b honest Vela is right, Spurs is a mid table team and just because u beat us 5-1 with our second team on, Arsenal are on a much higher level than you and will become even better so Spurs fans if u think ur good enuf to have players like dos santos (who i think is over rated) den ur wrong, hes nli goin there to get his minutes and to get more games to b seen by the likes of inter milans and ac milans so therefore SPURS dnt flatter urself jus coz u got dis wonda kid!!!!
June 10, 2008 at 5:57 pm
I still don’t understand why some Arsenal fans really think (or at least hope) that Villa’s gonna join us.. I soo can’t see it happening.. Even though I’d love to be wrong about this, it ain’t happening..
June 10, 2008 at 5:59 pm
i agree with you ola 100%.
June 10, 2008 at 6:00 pm
Of course he’s not Ola, but that doesn’t stop us fans dreaming does it?!

Villa now too expensive for us, bet he goes to scousers.
Just seen Alex Hleb on BIG BROTHER calling himself Mikey and pretending to be scottish, ihe should sack his agent if this is the best gig he can get during the Euro’s

Looks like the Gooner spirit is Strong in Vela. Top man
June 10, 2008 at 6:22 pm

June 10, 2008 at 6:23 pm
Oops should have read 1st well the point is he will be well priced out of our range!
June 10, 2008 at 7:26 pm
I reckon we shuld get rid of adebayor for villa coz hes on smokin hot form and gt rid of walcott to, all hes good for is running and he cant even last a match. We need a player whos like robert pires back in the team, someone whos has good vision and great tactical play
June 10, 2008 at 7:34 pm

June 10, 2008 at 7:44 pm
VILLA DONE REALLY WELL TODAY BUT IM SURE YOU GUYS KNOW WENGER TO WELL NOW!!
CAN YOU HONESTLY SEE WENGER SPENDING THAT KIND OF MONEY ON ANY PLAYER??
MAYBE IF HE WAS 17 THEN HE WOULD BUT ESPECIALLY THAT HE’S LIKE 28YRS OLD..
June 10, 2008 at 7:46 pm
WENGER FUCK UR YOUNGSTERS GET SOME EXPERIENCED PLAYERS IN THE TEAM!!!! we need more than one big signing this season.
we need a replacement for flamini, hleb ( if he goes) a strong centre back (gallas biggest piece of crap ive seen just a big baby) and a good goalkeeper (almunia whos hes?:S)
June 10, 2008 at 7:48 pm
good news all around: vela moving to london (finally!), dudu recovering ahead of schedule, ramsay agreeing to terms, nasri on his way….PLUS fab got his first international goal (albeit from an offside position…)….let’s hope we can do a yaya for hleb swap…and for the love of god, mr. wenger, SIGN VILLA!!!!!!!
June 10, 2008 at 7:56 pm
If this guys tellin the truth then were gna b awsum next season!! haha
June 11, 2008 at 12:51 am
checky little bugger. would be interesting if Wenger played him at WHL.
June 11, 2008 at 2:16 am
Suppose one wanted to get in contact with arsenal or Arsene Wenger, what would be the possible way to do so? there are many fans that could help in decision making and would love their voice to be heard. Some say that the voice of the peopl is the voice of God. The fans have many ideas. One idea i have is 5-3-2
…………….Gallas
……….toure- – -Song
Sagna…………………… Clichy
……walcot–fabregas–diaby
……VanPersie-Adebayor
No defencive Midfielder in this. Could it be effective??
June 11, 2008 at 6:57 am
jesus king.. might as well push song upwards.
villa is too expensive. we have strikers galore, plus vela comin back. ramsey’s gonna be electrifying. very agile n smart.
June 11, 2008 at 2:20 pm
duffman…u stated 2 pieces of shit so far..sell ade, sell walcott..and gallas is crap right/…….do you actually support arsenal or the scum down the road
June 11, 2008 at 2:37 pm
I think that price tag of £17m for Villa rose a considerable amount after last nights hatrick. Should have tried to do the deal before Euros
June 11, 2008 at 9:12 pm
Valencia won’t want to sell him now, and we were never going to sign him, so let’s forget about Villa. Anyway, why are so many people saying we should sign this player, and that player, after only one game?
Even if they have a great tournament, so what? Milan Baros was top scorer last time…., need I say more???
