Most of us already knew that Arsenal’s kit for next season would look something along the lines of the photo above, and thanks to some great inside work from The Orlando Sentinel, we’ve got the leaked pics of Arsenal’s new 08/09 kit.
As Young Guns made clear, all Arsenal teams from First Team to Reserve & Youth level will be wearing this kit based on the one from the 88/89 year next season.
What do you think? Impressive design? Or would you of preferred to of kept last seasons design?

In other news, Bacary Sagna has signed a long-term contract extension at the club. The 25-year-old has blossomed since joining Arsenal from French club Auxerre and was rewarded by being picked as the PFA’s Right Back of the Year.
The Gooner Forum are debating on Gunners’ boss Arséne Wenger’s lack of spending during the transfer window/s, I urge you to have a look at the forum as well as the article, click here to sign up.
Finally, Arsenal have reportedly had a bid rejected for colossus Udinese centre back Cristian Zapata. The 21-year-old starlet is one of the most highly-rated young defenders in Europe and is being tipped to move on this summer, maybe to Arsenal?

June 4, 2008 at 3:34 pm
its ok
June 4, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Hmm, it’s not bad, but it pisses me off that us fans have to fork out for a new home and away shirt every season.
June 4, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Is Zapata even good? and will he settle into the prem? and how tall is he?
June 4, 2008 at 3:34 pm
love it
June 4, 2008 at 3:36 pm
love it can i have one please AW
June 4, 2008 at 3:36 pm
don’t forget that there’s third kits too.
June 4, 2008 at 3:37 pm
Zapata is 6 ft 1 i think jamjam. He’s a decent defender, we could do with him.
June 4, 2008 at 3:40 pm
Not bad, does remind me of a previous strip & i hear the away strip will be yellow aswell wich usually brings good luck..
June 4, 2008 at 3:41 pm
oh kl. well he best be world class if we have to pay more than £15 mil for him, which is to much for a defender i think. especially one that is not that well known
June 4, 2008 at 3:42 pm
i think his club (Udinese) will let him go for around the £10 million mark mate.
June 4, 2008 at 3:47 pm
arsenal got rejected for another player another player why dont they just offer the asking price and stop being jewish
June 4, 2008 at 3:47 pm
It’s nice, but I never like it when the white arms dissappear. Makes us look too much like Nottingham Forest….
June 4, 2008 at 3:48 pm
Nice kit… away kit also cool…
June 4, 2008 at 3:48 pm
home kit is every other season not every season, away becomes 3rd so there is a new away every season.

Thank for clearing that up Alex.

Arsenal Fail In Zapata Bid
Udinese are reported to have rejected a 12m euros bid from Arsenal for Cristian Zapata.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger did well to keep his interest in the highly regarded 21-year-old hidden from the press, but was less successfull in convincing the Serie A club to part with their Colombian gem.
The ‘Zebrette’ are in an enviable negotiating position as Zapata has four-years left on his contract at the Friuli and is a known target of Milan, Juventus, Internazionale and Fiorentina.
According to the Italian press, Udinese sporting director Giampaolo Pozzo would not part with Zapata for anything less than 20 million euros, which is likely well in excess of what the famously frugal London side are likely willing to spend.
Zapata was an absolute rock at the back for Udinese last season, and was largely responsible for the modestly resourced side qualifying for the Uefa Cup.

June 4, 2008 at 4:10 pm
hahahahahh he is lolllllll
June 4, 2008 at 4:10 pm
not as bad as i had thought -given the amount of time i spent avoiding this webpage; cringing at the the thought of The Return of Squashed Bananas or, Oh No! Not The Hoops Again!
nice!
June 4, 2008 at 4:13 pm
Don’t visit if you don’t like Kumbi mate.
No way is Kalou better than Ade!!!! Yes, he has more pace, but the better player is Adebayor mainly because of his goals, strength and just pure class.
June 4, 2008 at 4:32 pm
did anyone see kalous goals in the a.c.o.n pure class better then adebio
June 4, 2008 at 4:34 pm
Yes mate, pure quality, best goal i’ve ever seen.
June 4, 2008 at 4:35 pm
good kit and shame about the bid being rejected for Zapata as he’s a good player.
June 4, 2008 at 4:37 pm
whats your problem WE AINT GOT NO MONEYHO?how can you say that when we have the strongest argument ade scored 30 goals, how many did kalou scored, kalou is very talented but he is not that mature in game and surely not that good as ade on scoring.he is the type of malouda very good with the ball but not consistent(malouda at chelsea because at france he is very good).
June 4, 2008 at 4:45 pm
also nice to see freddie didn’t make the comments attributed
June 4, 2008 at 4:48 pm
Of course Seb, I didn’t think he said those quotes in the first place tbh.
June 4, 2008 at 4:50 pm
gooner me if they played the same amount of games kalou would get more goals then him he would also take the easier chances
June 4, 2008 at 4:54 pm
that means he is not good enough to be in first 11 so is not better anyway: WE AINT GOT NO MONEYHO,did saw owuso-obeye games at a.c.o.n wich was our player to?
June 4, 2008 at 4:57 pm
can you elaborate on the quincy argument a bit more please
June 4, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Can Zapata be compard to anybody? Haven’t seen a lot of him, maybe a young Thuram? ha
June 4, 2008 at 5:08 pm
Maybe RVP, I feel he would be a great addition to the squad, especially considering we need a centre back.
June 4, 2008 at 5:09 pm
i am saing that he was very good and that when he played for arsenal he didnt looker to promising and wenger let him go and i think he made a litlle mistake ,who knows maybe the level of the competition wasnt so higs so thats why.and i said that because you said abot kalou at a.c.o.n. and i think you cant compare the a.c.o.n. defenders with premier league defenders.
June 4, 2008 at 5:13 pm
I have heard he has great potential, why not buy him and Richards and sell Gallas. I know its unrealistic but we are aloud to dream ha
June 4, 2008 at 5:13 pm
Don’t think he made a mistake mate. Quincy was a tricky player who I doubt would of coped in the physicality of the Premier League as it stands.
He was pretty lightweight as well, something that you can’t be when you play in this countries top league.
June 4, 2008 at 5:14 pm
well i hink adebayor is not going to have the same season and i think arsenal missed out on kalou before he went to sign for them wankers
June 4, 2008 at 5:25 pm
he didnt looket to lightweight to me ,thats how y use ti know him but now he has more power more speed and strenght ,y was very surprised to see him ,he changed a lot.but as you say maybe the level wasnt so high and probably not good enough for premier league.

Hmmm Im abit disappointed Though, I Must admit i did not like it , but it could have been worse
.
Season 2004-2005 Kits are my fav i must say , both of them , Home and away, thanks Chris for the Post mate
June 4, 2008 at 6:17 pm
No problems mate, thanks for the comment
June 4, 2008 at 6:44 pm
I have to say that I don’t (yet) think that this new kit is so cool.. I would’ve seen us still in the last years home kit along with the WHITE away kit.. That kit is just so marvellous.. the white and redcurrant..
June 4, 2008 at 7:08 pm
I had a feeling Wenger would go for Zapata over someone like say Raul Albiol and Kompany. I hear Kompany is injury prone and it might take Albiol some time to settle into another league. While Zapata is playing in a notorious league for defenders and is with a somewhat Blackburn type team in Italy but has been playing consistently well for the past 3 seasons. If we got Nasri, Zapata, De La Red and possibly another creative midfielder I think thats us sorted I really do. Also its a shame that last seasons 3rd kit never really got a good go cause it was nice.
June 4, 2008 at 7:25 pm
Well we don’t have to dream about Zapata coming since we had a bid rejected for him. What about Per Mertesacker? Only seen a few of his games,he looks like he could be quality, heard a lot of good things about him. Can get a better opinion of him in the Euros. The kit is ok,not great not bad.
June 4, 2008 at 10:39 pm
Why is wenger going for zapata?? what does he have to offer that gallas & toure dont?? imo we need a good tough solid english CB that knows what theh prem is about.
June 5, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Like Richards, but he would cost us an extra 10 mill more than Zapata
