Samir Nasri confirmed on French radio station RTL that his transfer to Arsenal is “almost done” and that the move “should be resolved in the coming days.”
The 20-year-old who impressed whilst playing the full 90 minutes against Ecuador on Tuesday is set to become Arsenal’s second signing of the season after The Gunners secured the services of French midfielder Francis Coquelin earlier this week.
France international Nasri has been in the middle of an ongoing transfer saga between both Marseille and Arsenal which is set to come to an end as the week closes, the deal is reported to be in the region of £13.5 million.
With the welcome news that Alexander Hleb might be staying, theres every possiblity that Arsenal will have both Hleb and Nasri in the same team for next season, what a bonus that would be!

Now get me Ben Arfa!!!!!
May 28, 2008 at 11:52 pm
Until there is a picture of him holding up the Arsenal shirt on Arsenal.com, i’m not going to believe it.
He looks a great prospect though!
May 29, 2008 at 12:05 am
Elbow me want ben arfa to but after marseille looking as favourites for arfa now i tink its not gonna happen
May 29, 2008 at 12:06 am
Now thats wrapped up next job is to find a replacement for Flamini, my guessing is that it will be either Yaya Toure, Jean II Makoun or Miguel Veloso. All three of them are good players in there own right but Veloso does seem the most like Flamini if thats the path we want to go down. Yaya would be good to as a more solid “you shall not pass but im still willing to get forward and create” option. Not so keen on Makoun I think he’s another Zokora in the making tbh. Who knows only time will tell, Arsene will make the right choice.
May 29, 2008 at 12:06 am
Marseille will get him, as i’ve repeated several times on the blog, Aulas wants him to stay in Ligue 1.
May 29, 2008 at 12:07 am
i did’nt know Francis Coquelin is comin.
May 29, 2008 at 12:09 am
He looks not bad, but he’s not exactly a John Terry is he? I can’t see him dominating the opposing teams strike-force in the air. I don’t see him rising like a salmon in the white shirt of england to power the ball home off his spiky hairdo.
Has he ever peed on the floor of a nightclub for example?

I reckon Veloso will replace Flamoney at Arsenal. By the way Flamoney has not even made it into the final 23-man France Squad. Neither has Ben Arfa. I think Ben Arfa will not join Marseille as they are only being used as a negotiating tool against Arsenal. Ben Arfa will have a say in the transfer too and will not move down a step to go to Marseille. He will want to immediatly get back into they France squad and will want to play in a top league for a top club. For example, Arsenal!
May 29, 2008 at 12:12 am
think of the sagna, nasri linkup its orgasmic
May 29, 2008 at 12:13 am
Think of the Nasri-Fabregas-Ben Arfa linkup :O
May 29, 2008 at 12:16 am
Think of John Terry charrgin everywhere ploughing the fukkin field up worse than any tractor.
May 29, 2008 at 12:16 am
LMFAO… I wouldn’t go that far, but if thats the way you roll then fine mate.
May 29, 2008 at 12:21 am
Got a feeling the Flamini££££ replacement might be already at the club…Chantome might come in for the future, from what ive seen of him looks a good prospect.
May 29, 2008 at 12:25 am
John terry a good player but i have to admit theo walcott will take on any defense. Example liverpool’s that was to easy for him But lets not change the subject NASRI IS GUNNER ROCK!
May 29, 2008 at 12:29 am
nasri is the shit is so good ben arfa ia also very good
hope he comes to arsenal i kinda like him more thne nasri but i like nasri n he is a good player
May 29, 2008 at 12:34 am
believe it only on arsenal.com
May 29, 2008 at 12:38 am
I hope he sees plenty of time in the European tournament to boost his confidence, and then come back to Arsenal a better player.
May 29, 2008 at 12:39 am
hleb leaving is just as confirmed as nasri coming really. with nasri replacing hleb we’d still need to fill up the flanks with another winger.
reports in spain r suggestin hleb’s agreed a move to barca for 12 mill
http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/football/article-1022585/Barcelona-confident-capturing-Arsenals-unsettled-Hleb-12.html?ITO=1490
May 29, 2008 at 12:49 am
i agree with hasan. i love nasri and feel he is a great player, but i would still like and hope if we got ben arfa. best case scenario with hleb leaving is that it covers most of the cost of bringing nasri in, so we would still seem to have enough funds to bring in another winger and a DM. Veloso/Yaya and ben arfa please!!
By the way, very nice blog buddy.
May 29, 2008 at 12:58 am
Oh well This is really Good news though, but i really HOPE that Hleb will Stay, hes something special as well really, btw i saw this on sky and to be honest im abit confused now , i’d die to know IF HE STAYING OR LEAVING? guess we will soon.

Hleb is quoted on Sky Sports just last night saying he loves Arsenal and the rumours of him leaving are nonsense and ‘made up’.
I can’t help but feel that they weren’t made up and that with Nasri in he will be out but just for one fraction of a second….just imagine our attacking lineup IF Hleb stays….
van Persie, Adebayor, Eduardo, Bendtner
Vela, Rosicky, Fabregas, Hleb, Nasri, Walcott
Clichy, Sagna
Don’t tell me you don’t cream yourself just picturing that squad.
In the probably unlikely event of that being the case I think I’d care less and less about our defense as surely with an attacking lineup THAT good we could just outscore allcomers.
Oh well I’m too busy jizzing to think sensibly!
May 29, 2008 at 2:06 am
Our options going forward for next season should be fantastic though.
True with and direct play with left and right footers in Vela and Walcott. Both looking to use their greta pace and get in behind.
Rosicky if fit for a good run is one of our most gifted players and technically offers us so much when on song, obviously he’s pretty narrow most of the time. Hleb is more similar to Rosicky but is less direct again, but can cause huge problems anyway, especially when behind the strikers in Fabregas’ role. Nasri is a guy I haven’t seen much of but I gather he’s somewhere between Hleb and Rosicky- likes to carry the ball at speed but has great close control.
With those we have such potential for variation that we should have the key to any defense. If our usual narrow possession game doesn’t work, take off Hleb, chuck on Walcott and watch the damage ensue. If Walcott starts a game but is giving the ball away too cheaply and getting outmuscled- Nasri.
Oh man, this squad is good.

May 29, 2008 at 2:31 am
I knew you would!
I was optimistic for next season, but wasn’t actually that excited yet until I read Hleb’s comments.
Like I said I still believe he’ll go, and even if he does we have an awesome squad, but if he stays my pants will be jizz stained for all eternity considering how good our attacking players will be next year.
May 29, 2008 at 2:34 am
If there’s one thing we have to start doing next year it’s win games in the first half. I don’t want the pointlessly fancy football to stop, but lets just have someone take a pop if there’s a half chance.
I think Walcott and Vela will be happy to go for goal, Rosicky isn’t scared to shoot when he’s actually fit and by all accounts apparently Nasri likes to shoot. That leaves only Hleb to change his habits.
May 29, 2008 at 2:42 am
hope dun buy african again for DM, coz gonna lose them during african cup again >”<
May 29, 2008 at 3:01 am
I think the true question here is…. does Hleb like ice-cream?
Yes – he stays at Arsenal
No – he moves on to another team.
Regardless of this question though, if he was to stay, Arsenal might need to renew/extend his contract to prevent him leaving on the cheap, by buying out his contract.
So perhaps Arsenal are better off selling him now and getting a good price for him… instead of trying to speculate on what seems to be the million-dollar question of whether hleb likes ice-cream.
Your thoughts?
May 29, 2008 at 3:03 am
I’d rather keep him and get him on a new contract. If we can do hat he maintains his value whilst we get to keep hold of him until next Summer, by which time we should have enough to not really miss him if he leaves by virtue of experience from our youngsters.
May 29, 2008 at 3:20 am
get bent on that senderass nerd he is not only a snail but if you look close he has got an extra pinky toe thus causing him to run strangely like a ghoul he is also known to lick major amounts of bobo when defending old men. if he stays gas to be as sub . we needing solid replacements for him and eboob although maybe eboob at rb gets one more chance a diaby or song suits me fine as flamers replacement a year behind in my opinion their both far more technical than their predecessor Kompany is more than welcome but doubtful bottomline Nasri is stellar news we need a central defender badly if hlebs decides to move on then ben hatem becomes more of a need than a want however if yaya is available would be stoked too see him at the emirates
May 29, 2008 at 3:22 am

I think we should swap hleb for yaya toure and sign diego capel from seville. That would make this the best summer ever
May 29, 2008 at 6:31 am
ben arfa + veloso now and i promise you the title leave manchester for north london.
you heard it here first!!
May 29, 2008 at 7:15 am
I just read that a lot of you guys want Ben Arfa, but Why???
Why really don’t need him! We need a Defender and a DM!!!
Ben Arfa’s position is currently taken by the likes of: Rosicky, Walcott, Vela, Diaby, Eboue, RvP, Eduardo, Hleb?, Nasri?……that’s nine Players….so I’ll ask again. Why would why need Ben Arfa???
May 29, 2008 at 7:34 am
live it for arsenal
May 29, 2008 at 7:43 am
Samir Nasri, (سمير نصري) born 26 June 1987 in Marseille is a French attacking midfielder of Algerian Kabyle origin, currently playing for Arsenal in the Premiership.
On 29 May 2008 it was revealed that Nasri had signed for Arsenal for £12.5 million.
taken from his wikipedia!!
May 29, 2008 at 7:46 am
we don’t need arfa.. coz a fully fit rocisky will terrorize anybody..what we need is veloso and somebody in the mould of kompany.. and we will be flying next season

i heard arsenal want 2 sign kenny miller from derby is there any truth behind this
May 29, 2008 at 8:05 am
why not our own KOLO toure for def mid?? comparing him with flamini..
passing abbility: almost the same
technically superior: toure
tackling abilities: toure (from his defending experiences)
going forward: toure (much better i reckon)
outmuscling opponents: toure
energy level: almost the same
heading abilities: toure
passion for the team: toure
and he used to play in this role before and has the experience to play at the top level and he rarely gets injured
plus he has some quick feet too and has more of a footballing brains than flamini.. i think by giving toure this role, opponents will find it hard to break us down..let alone outmuscling us in midfield..
i really think toure is not the typical central defender we need.. if we can get a tall ball clearing defender perhaps someone like kompany, then i think toure should be pushed to central midfield.. with song a good cover for both roles
what u guys think of this?
May 29, 2008 at 8:11 am
now yaya toure ben arfa and thuram and we will win da league
May 29, 2008 at 8:11 am
goofy gooner ar u dum
May 29, 2008 at 8:16 am
Playing Kolo in DM could actually work really well, Arsene should have tried it out in the last 2 games of the season.
But lets not forget Song, he could be a big deal! Did anyone see him at the african cup, he was amazing!
May 29, 2008 at 8:18 am
luke coz arfa’s a wide player.
May 29, 2008 at 8:21 am
So we DON’T need Ben Arfa!
Why the hell would we want Yaya???
I watched more than half the Barca games this season and Yaya Toure just isn’t that good. He’s very aggressiv. I suppose you have to be a bit in that position, but he constantly gives away freekicks in dangerous areas. If he does that in the premier league were f*cked cause players like Ronaldo only need one Freekick to score!
May 29, 2008 at 8:23 am
iceman:
And I guess these players don’t/can’t play wide:Rosicky, Walcott, Vela, Diaby, Eboue, RvP, Eduardo, Hleb?, Nasri?

1. Manchester United
Latest News:
The Glazers bought United for £777 million in May 2005, and at the end of the 2006/07 season they were £453 million in debt from bank borrowings – over half of the entire Premier League’s total borrowings from banks – and £152 million in debt from other loans.
Although they have regained their Premier League crown, they have done so while spending less than Chelsea on wages.
They did record an eight per cent increase in wage payments between 05/06 and 06/07 but that increase was matched or exceeded by 14 of the other Premier League clubs during the same period.
And while their wages increased, their revenue has grown with it. In fact, their absolute growth in revenue over wage surplus was second only to Arsenal.
United are ranked above the benchmark “comfort level” for effective cost management, which is calculated by comparing wages to turnover ratio – the key performance indicator of a club’s welfare. They are second only to Tottenham in this regard.
They have the second highest net assets in the League, after Arsenal, with £80 million assets, and they earn the most of all English clubs with £32 million generated through television deals.
They are predicted as having the highest operating profit over the next five years with an operating profit of £239.5 million. United are also second in the list of stadium utilisation for the 2007/08 season with an average turnout of 99.4 per cent of the 75,691 capacity.
While the club had a pre-tax loss of £62,575 in 2007, United earn more from two matches at Old Trafford than Wigan Athletic reap from an entire season of home games.
3. Arsenal
Arsenal recorded an eight per cent increase in their wage outgoings between 2005/06 and 2006/07, although in that season they had the highest surplus of cash after wages had been deducted from the club’s revenue.
Arsenal also had the best stadium utilisation this season with 99.5 per cent of their 60,054 capacity used. It is just as well: Arsenal were the major stadium investors in 2006/07 with £34.2 million, while their pricing strategy this season did not increase on the previous one.
But the club have the third highest debt. At the end of 2006/07 their net borrowings stood at £268 million, with the second highest loans balances in the country. They are required to pay £19 million in net interest costs, but that is dealt with comfortably by revenues (match-day revenue doubled to £91 million in 2006/07 alone) generated by the move to the Emirates Stadium.
Also, by refinancing a £260 million loan, the club has reduced its annual debt service cost from £32 million to £20 million per annum. Moreover, the club is predicted to have an operating profit of £103.9 million over the next five years – the second highest in the country. Arsenal also lead Manchester United as the club with the most assets, put at £113 million at the end of the 2006/07 season.
Finally, according to 2006/07 figures, they bring in the third largest amount of money through television rights – £29 million.

Arsenal and Samir Nasri will have to be patient about the proposed transfer of the Marseille starlet to North London
Samir Nasri’s move to Arsenal looks unlikely to be completed until after the European Championships that start on Saturday.
The French international midfielder is high on the Gunners’ shopping list, but negotiations have been taking longer than expected, and could be delayed further by Nasri’s involvement with the France squad in Austria and Switzerland for Euro 2008.
It had been reported last week that the highly-regarded winger had already agreed terms with Arsenal and would sign a four-year deal before the tournament gets underway at the weekend.
But that has not happened and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is resigned to waiting until the 20-year-old returns from international duty before the deal can be finalised.
“Nasri interests me,” stressed Wenger, “I hope I will do it [complete the signing] after the Euros. It is more complicated now because the wage differences [between the Premier League and Ligue 1] are not as big as they used to be.
“Just look at Karim Benzema. He is 20 and recently signed a new deal with Lyon.
“England is considered one of the two top leagues and the best players want to play against the best players.”
Wenger is thought to view Nasri as a direct replacement for Alexander Hleb, who continues to be linked with Barcelona, though no deal yet seems to be on the table for the Belarus playmaker.
Nevertherless, there is intense speculation that Hleb will complete a move to Camp Nou in the next few days, with the £12million transfer fee helping to fund Arsenal’s move for Nasri.
Also i hope veloso, gomez and ben arfa which does not look likely as marseille look favourites
