Samir Nasri will be playing in an Arsenal shirt next season according to close pal and French national team mate Franck Ribery.
Reports just days ago suggested Nasri was on his way to Arsenal, since then, talks have escalated between Marseille and Arsenal with highly-respected newspaper L’Equipé confirming the transfer of the Marseille starlet.
Widely regarded as one of the biggest talents in French football, Nasri has been constantly linked with The Gunners since the start of the 07/08 season.
Today, French Sports Radio Station RMC told their listeners that the Frenchman reportedly had a medical and sealed personal terms with the club under the eye of stand-in Managing Director Ken Friar.
France national team mate Ribery told L’Equipé today that he is happy for his friend and is expecting big things of the 20-year-old in the hard-to-adapt-to Premier League.
“It’s good for him (Nasri). This is a good club with a lot of young players, but the English Premier League is completely different, difficult to adapt to.
It is a pity that Samir left Marseilles, he’s been there all of his footballing career there. But it was important for him to see something else.

Really hope this is true but if Ribery thinks so highly of our club why didn’t he join last year?
May 23, 2008 at 9:49 pm
Bayern put in a bigger offer, simple as that, Nasri though, seems to have his heart set on a move to Arsenal.
May 23, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Cause Wenger don’t like to give a lot of money for names. He searches quality. That could soubd Ironicly byt that’s the truth.
May 23, 2008 at 9:52 pm
Hopefully he does, could be our next big star. Or maybe we just didn’t put in a bid for Ribery he cost Bayern a lot
May 23, 2008 at 9:53 pm
he wanted to join us,wenger didnt move for him
May 23, 2008 at 9:53 pm
he was going to den henry left and wenger decided dat he had to replace henry if u look back at some quotes wenger said dat he woz in the process of buying a star which would keep thierry at happy but i agree he wouldve been a quality player for arsenal but i hope dat this is true because nasri would be a great signing for us although i feel this may spell the end for hleb
May 23, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Wenger had other targets i.e Sagna, Eduardo
May 23, 2008 at 9:54 pm
WHER ARE YOU GETTING THIS INFORMATION FROM EH ITS REALLY WINDING ME UP PLEASE CAN SOMEONE BLOODY CONFIRM THIS.IF IT IS TRUE ARSENAL ARE WANKERS FOR NOT BREAKING IT TO US ARSENAL FANS.I STILL DONT THINK IT IS TRUE THO
May 23, 2008 at 9:54 pm
im at work and keep checking the nasri saga, i hope this info is true. woruld have preferred to have ribery but nasri isnt too bad. gooners all the way
May 23, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Well if it is the end for Hleb it could be a good thing in a weird way, I think he is excellent for us but if a player doesn’t want to be here he should probably just leave and I think we could get a few bob for him aswell
May 23, 2008 at 9:57 pm
Ribery didnt join because wenger never made an offer for him. Wenger once said in an interview that he rated ribery as a quality player, but that was the link all the papers needed to make a story of it.
Nasri will be (if true) a quality addition, alongside vela wenger is adding some more players who have the impact factor.
May 23, 2008 at 10:00 pm
I have a few friends in France who know people of Nasri’s “camp” and they’ve told me that he WILL sign for Arsenal.
May 23, 2008 at 10:01 pm
It’s not rocket science James, France’s most respected newspapers and websites are confirming the signing, it’s a matter of days before it’s confirmed officially.
May 23, 2008 at 10:04 pm
nice addition
May 23, 2008 at 10:04 pm
But didn’t the same websites and newspapers say the same things about Ribery last year? Really hope this happens and I think it will but there is always a small doubt when it comes to our transfers as we are easily outbid
May 23, 2008 at 10:06 pm
RVP, in response to your first post above, reading the Ribery quote, I suspect Ribery probably thinks the prem is possibly too difficult to adapt to.
May 23, 2008 at 10:10 pm
pink floyd on tv. brilliant
May 23, 2008 at 10:10 pm
Yes Mike, I think you are right but if he considers himself a good player it shouldn’t be too hard for him to make the transition. I believe Nasri could adapt easily enough though, he has played international so if he is capable of playing at that level he is capable of playing in th prem
May 23, 2008 at 10:13 pm
we will sign him but dont go moaning if we dont sign him towmorrow arsenal fans……..patience is a virtue
May 23, 2008 at 10:14 pm
I wish we would confirm it soon, Im sure Arsene loves teasing us with the is it/isn’t it happening factor!! Does anyone think we’re going for Makoun or we going for someone else??
May 23, 2008 at 10:16 pm
Makoun, as I said in the comments section on the other article is likely to go to Spurs, probably a replacement for Zokora.
May 23, 2008 at 10:17 pm
i know makoun would be a good signing i think….he has the ambition to suceed at a big club..seb..
arsenal fans who will we sign for our squad seriously?
May 23, 2008 at 10:18 pm
ITS A LOAD OF BULL-SHIT COME ON YOU LOT U AREN’T BELIEVEING THIS CRAP R U YOUR JUS WINDING YOURSELF UP.WHEN IT IS CONFIRMED ON ARSENAL . COM THEN YEAH BUT NO
May 23, 2008 at 10:19 pm
HAS ANY ONE SEEN THIS MAKOUN GUY PLAY……………
May 23, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Who would be better in our team Makoun or Lorik Cana not seen a lot of either but have heard they could be good, would like this deal to be closed asap
May 23, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Nasri
I don’t want to make promises just in case it comes back to bit me in the arse! But with all the French media saying he’s signed, I personally believe it’s just a matter of time before he’s officially an Arsenal player.
May 23, 2008 at 10:20 pm
ZARATE THE NEW MESSI MARK MY WORDS
its time for your bedtime you seem to be a it cranky…
May 23, 2008 at 10:23 pm
We dont need another 20 year old with a huge “future”. we need some 25-28 year olds at the top of their games. As was evident this season we are short of mental toughness when the going gets tough!!! We need more men we already have enough boys!! Please Wenger buy us some mentally tough talented men who are ready to perform from day one!
May 23, 2008 at 10:33 pm
No I think it was injuries to key players that cost us and also some of the older players were a bit short of mental toughness, age does not make you mentaly tougher it is just something that a good player should have in their charecter
May 23, 2008 at 10:34 pm
Sorry I meant Character
May 23, 2008 at 10:36 pm
ANGRY CAPS LOCK MAN i do believe this as wenger has said a signing could be expected in the next couple of weeks, a said a couple of weeks ago, and nasri is very much a wenger type player and one who is very much available. the constant links in the press arnt idle specualtion like the makoun or veloso ones but confirmed interest and offers. the word is that a clause in nasris contract means he is not eligible for transfer until the official end of the french season which is a couple of days away. i think he will be a good sign and expect wenger to add a cb to the squad as well and perhaps another creative player if hleb goes. and perhaps a couple for the youth team of course.
May 23, 2008 at 10:41 pm
RVP, excellent comment. Gallas is almost 30 and he was the first to show signs of cracking. Toure is now our veteran, but yet he still makes mistakes. These guys are only human, they will cost us points and it has nothing to do with age. Experience isn’t directly correlated with age and age doesn’t eradicate mistakes.
May 23, 2008 at 10:41 pm
vnvbcncbv why are you being rude
May 23, 2008 at 10:42 pm
The French season officially ends tomorrow with the cup final, might be a good chance to see Chantome since we have been linked with him a little bit
May 23, 2008 at 10:43 pm
alex hleb has left arsenal
May 23, 2008 at 10:45 pm
Where have you heard this mate?
May 23, 2008 at 10:47 pm
the sun newspaper
May 23, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Its only the sun, shouldn’t believe it yet
May 23, 2008 at 10:48 pm
yo i like nasri n i think he signed but thts how i felt but palacio but he din sign so if he signs i would happy but i dun i just got htis doudt i would prefer wenger signed ben arfa idun knw i just liek him better then nasri but nasri is also an amazing tal;ent but i just like ben arfa style better
May 23, 2008 at 10:49 pm
Those are old quotes in that article
May 23, 2008 at 10:49 pm
we still might get Yaya but I doubt it, I think Diaby can do a role in the middle but I’m not sure he’s defensive enough to counterpart Cesc
May 23, 2008 at 11:15 pm
5year contract sealed along with ben arfa yaya and kompany don’t want a arsenal/french squad
May 23, 2008 at 11:57 pm
I DO ^^, Arsenal is a great team, and both Ben Arfa and Nasri would be perfect.
May 24, 2008 at 12:15 am
Ya but no but yeah but na but ya but no but yes but 2 many French players 3 of back 4 r French DERE WOZ Flamini also diaby, traore dat wud b 7 i’m not sayin i dont want us 2 sign them but dats all Arsene GOES 4 IN TRANSFER MKT I MEANT 2 PUT IN TOUGH IN MY LAST COMMENT AFTER FRENCH SQUAD
May 24, 2008 at 12:34 am
Diaby isn’t a DCM so he can’t fill the role we need someone new. believe me people I’ve seen Makoun play and he isn’t arsenal quality he’ll be good for an average team like spurs. remember a player called Rio Mavuba who was meant to be the next best thing? well where is he now. trust me him an makoun play just alike they just get hyped up by the media. i think we should go in for someone who plays like flamini, box to box mid who can create and defend equally as well. Not this Chantome guy he is’nt good at all just watch the cup game tomorrow and you’ll see.
May 24, 2008 at 1:29 am
i think people are going to be surprised when they see this guy chantome on saturday if they watch the match.I have just seen a couple of clips from him in his final game of the season for psg and he had two assists 1 led to a goal and the other did not get finished off.He will be a playmaker
May 24, 2008 at 2:35 am
assist count if there is goal..if not, it is not an assist :p
May 24, 2008 at 3:22 am
We didn’t go for Ribery because, we already had Walcott, Hleb and Eboue on the right, Rosicky owns the left when hes fit. Walcott has the potential to be a far better winger than Ribery, and he cost a fraction of what Bayern had to pay for him. Nasri will replace Hleb, given that hes 7 years younger and a whole lot better player this is another AW master-stroke. We’ll probably even make a profit out of it with the proceeds from Hleb
May 24, 2008 at 3:53 am
Why do people keep banging on about Ribery? Didn’t they see Zenit basically stick him in a box and sit on him?
May 24, 2008 at 4:48 am
We should get Miralem Pjanic from under Lyon’s nose now! He’s the true teenage wonder!
May 24, 2008 at 8:21 am
it will be great if it is true that he has signed , so many fans really want to see him play for the us next season
any one want to join a soccer discussion forum ??? Then check out Soccerfanbase.com it is free to join and you can interact with other soccer lovers ( Chris I hope I am not seeing as spam ….but will not mind if we can do a links exchange )

ITS OFFICIAL NASRI HAS JUST SIGNED FOR ARSENAL!!!
SUCK THAT ZARATE THE NEW MESSI!
May 24, 2008 at 9:51 am
Serious where??
May 24, 2008 at 9:57 am
wher did you see that mate?
May 24, 2008 at 10:14 am
its true, its true your chatting shit………….
May 24, 2008 at 10:39 am
I’m amazed that no big club other than Lyon went for Miralem Pjanic, this player is worth the 10m that we are being asked to pay for Ramsey.
He is a real talent and Wenger would be losing a player who fit nicely in the Arsenal team play especially if we got Nasri.
May 24, 2008 at 11:15 am
The reason we probably weren’t in for him is because Marseille want Ben Arfa to replace Nasri if he was to come to us and Lyon want Pjanic to replace Ben Arfa
May 24, 2008 at 12:11 pm
But still we could have just tried our best to sign him, as his price will rocket in 2 years time, then we will feel sorry for wasting a great opportunity because he was cheep.
May 24, 2008 at 12:39 pm
My mate lives in france and knows some of the players. They said he had said goodbye and said he has joined arsenal.
May 24, 2008 at 12:45 pm
OK so when will arsenal unveil nasri can u ask your friend
May 24, 2008 at 1:09 pm
I asked. He says Nasri isnt sure and its up to them.
May 24, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Don’t talk bullshit. He is coming. You’re the 21st person to say you “know people in France” and they’ve “told you” he’s signed for Arsenal.
May 24, 2008 at 1:23 pm
see its not true its all just hype
May 24, 2008 at 2:03 pm
If it was just hype, why would the worlds sports media be writing articles saying he’s joining on Monday?
May 24, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Trust me guys he is coming.
May 24, 2008 at 2:06 pm
Hmm im not so sure. I agree with gooner chris too many people are saying they have mates who know.

nasri will be a gooner in time there just talking money now for agents and stuff.. as for ben arfa he is lookin at arsenal and thinkin yeh, but wenger is thinkin well nasri 20 dont need another, so kompany the new adams tall can read the game, toure partnership lookin good, info on vela to play up front walcott v.persie, adebayor going nowhere he talkin bout new contract he knows he can achieve alot here, eduado and bentdner still there, bentdner gone in winter window. yaya or makoun dont know but wenger did say he will buy a player already in prem for his experience, little bird told me of G.Barry.. price range age range experience and typically the kind of guy that can protect the worlds best Fabregas.. as for keeper frey ready for arsenal he is typically like casillas but yes french connection and keeps alot of clean sheets with a sterdy defence.. very commanding.. hope u guys feel better, trust wenger we wouldnt be knowhere without him..

May 27, 2008 at 10:53 pm
Dabo is another version of Justin Hoyte.
Matuidi is pants as well IMO.
Young ain’t bad
May 31, 2008 at 5:43 pm
Swap Between Toure and Hleb would be brill because then we have Cm and Lm sorted plus ben arfa and Kompany plus playboy ronaldo going 2 Real Madrid what a summer
